To think it's unfair on HRH Catherine

It's been on my mind that a spring wedding is one way to make sure all eyes are on you and not Catherine. As depending on the date chosen she'll either be extremely heavily pregnant or possibly postpartum, she's never really rushed to the celeb demands of having your pre-pregnancy body in 4 weeks. If she has HG that lasts till term she really won't enjoy the day, I remember one heavily pregnant Mum when I got married going home in the end to rest she was struggling that much.

It'll be a dilemma for William as he'll want to celebrate the day, as will Catherine. If she's heavily pregnant or post partum he got really overly drink, I think I'm right in thinking Catherine BF so she can't drink and needs somewhere private to feed. (Plus possibly an outfit that allows for ease of feeding)

I'm wondering if there's already an announcement due for once their married, that Harry & Meghan are expecting, thus the 4/5 month turn around if not quicker, going by my interpretations of Spring. It seems rather rushed.

I understand given Meghan's age it's now or never, I just feel it's a bit harsh on Catherine, as in any scenario she'll not overly get to celebrate the day. She's always been close to Harry, so I assume she'd want to take part and have a time similar to her wedding, partying till the small hours.

A summer wedding would give Catherine & William the luxury of not worrying if baby will arrive imminently, or that Catherine will be postpartum, knackered and really not feel like a part of the day.

I know it's Harry & Meghan's big day, but as I've said he's always been close to his brother and SIL. I honestly thought any announcement would be with the third pregnancy in mind.

What if the mother of the bride has got hemorrhoids and cannot sit for whole hour for the royal service?
Have you thought of that?

You are wonderfully over invested

Emoconn · 29/11/2017 18:48

She goes by the name KATE not Catherine

Ahardyfool · 29/11/2017 18:48

This has become my favourite threwadnof ALL time on mumsnet. It’s fucking brilliant.

Ahardyfool · 29/11/2017 18:48

Rofl @ wonderfully over invested

Harry said he proposed whilst they were cooking roast chicken.
What I want to know is was the chicken free range & did they use the Nigel Slater method with lemon & thyme?

Oh & Baby Cambridge No3 is arriving sometime between March 24th & March 31st according to my (slightly bonkers friend.)

Passenger42 · 29/11/2017 18:52

For Meghan it's now or never?? Are you for real! Bet she had her eggs frozen years ago and IVF is hardly going to be a financial struggle if there are any probs. I wouldn't be surprised if they adopted some children from 3rd world countries either to shake up protocol

Lweji · 29/11/2017 18:53

Really?

You lack in curiosity.

Was the chicken free range?
How many meals did they get out of it?
Was it properly cooked?
Was it washed?

Was it stuffed arse end or neck end?
Did it have giblets?

Did they also make chicken soup?

SleepingStandingUp · 29/11/2017 18:53

The wait seems unnecessary for many reasons
The wait isn't that long. Travel plans etc for visiting dignatories. Dress fittings for bride and her maids plus the kids. Shopping for the finger buffer. All that is obviously much quicker to plan when you have a battalion of staff to do it and a truck load of cash but i imagine logistically security etc - there needs to be a good clear gap in the diary

formerbabe · 29/11/2017 18:54

I'm betting the chicken was an organic one for sure.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 29/11/2017 18:54

AHardy all this thread needs now is an argument about helium balloons, a diagram thrown in, a debate regarding spider willies & laundry methods, plus some "Is she on Glue?"
Only then will this be the best ever MN thread in the world GrinGrinGrin

Lweji · 29/11/2017 18:55

I'm betting the chicken was an organic one for sure.

If it was carbon based life then it was definitely organic.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 29/11/2017 18:56

Lewji I'm hungry so I'm not thinking straight (wanders off to make tea.........)

User556 · 29/11/2017 18:56

I totally agree with you..... not

Waaaaay too much - gosh it's giving me a headache

VanillaSugar · 29/11/2017 18:57

Sod the above. The parking in Windsor is a nightmare. What if the wedding cars block someone's drive? We'll have AIBUs and diagrams galore!

pollymere · 29/11/2017 18:59

I went to a wedding at eight months pregnant. Seriously not fun. However I also went to my nephew's baptism in another country to be godmother. Me being the size of a house didn't come up. I did what was required and so will she.

Blendingrock · 29/11/2017 18:59

Ahhh the questions, the comments... gave me a giggle on a dull dreary morning. Thank you, I feel much better now. :)

Lweji · 29/11/2017 19:00

Dress fittings for bride and her maids plus the kids.

Oh, dear. We have the dress threads to look forward to, don't we?

Will she break with tradition and go strapless?
Or will she go 80s revival?

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 29/11/2017 19:01

And a 5 word story Vanilla, says she who is waving from the capital of Finland in the dark Grin

blackteasplease · 29/11/2017 19:04

That's a terribly bad week to be born, last week in March. Every few years you get a birthday that only lasts 23 hrs! Grinis

Def not strapless - her shoulders would need to be covered for church.

Lweji · 29/11/2017 19:13

My bet is on Duchy Organic Chicken hahah

But was it in the US or the UK? Is it available there? If not did they get it by private jet?

And... Did they give the dogs chicken bones? Hmm Shock

DampSquid · 29/11/2017 19:17

You're overthinking it. I've been heavily pregnant at a friend's wedding (gave birth less than a week later) and had a few week old breastfed baby with me at another wedding. No big deal on either occasion and I'm sure Kate will have plenty of help and support available should she need it
