Liam doesn't appear to have too much interest in running, but nonetheless got very upset that there are women-only runs, in addition to the thousands that are open to men.

But wait! An idea! If Liam says he is a girl, he will be able to go wherever he likes including all those women-only runs he was so cruelly rebuffed from.

But this didn't last long! The Equality Act 2010 came along and it said

"A person has the protected characteristic of gender reassignment if the person is proposing to undergo, is undergoing or has undergone a process [of changing gender]". So anyone who is even THINKING about changing gender is protected, and you better be careful about crossing them.

So Raceforlife quickly deleted the requirement for a GRC, and just to confirm this.

There are two ways out of this fucked up situation as I see it.
The best would be a Liam type character trying to enter a high level sporting competition, like tennis or Olympic level running. They are allowed to do it and the public finally recognize the absurdity.
Or the more amusing would be for several hundred women declaring themselves men and claiming all manner of legal rights, especially entry to top notch gentlemen's clubs, frequented by politicians ideally.

The sad thing for me is trans issues could be women's equality issues if they wanted to be. But instead of both minorities trying to make Gender equal and therefore a non issue, they draw the lines ever more firmly.

As women we can identify as male and take part in men’s activities too - It goes both ways. I think the majority of men would rather cut off their left arm than identify as female, as a feminist, I actually see this in a different way in that women are so amazing that men want to become us now.

Women only spaces are due to women needing safe spaces from abusive individuals, generally in possession of a penis (ie biological men).
Women only jobs either refer to the above, or are there to fulfill an equality quota.
