Good afternoon ladies.

I hope I'm not imposing here. During lunch, sister has put me on mums net chat. We would be very grateful for a quick survey please. I have come out to buy the item below as a gift for my wife who is also mother to our 5 children. However, my sister is confusing me by suggesting a different item. I only have until 3pm today.

I feel the item she is proposing looks slightly like a handcuff and also rather plain, but I'm open to feedback. She will post a photo in a moment.

Many thanks

Carlos.

I love the cherry blossom piece @hermione offered up.
Feminine, sparkly, all those things.

What about this unique Edwardian heart pendant - diamonds set in platinum at Suzanne Lovis, Burlington Arcade, reduced from 7K to 4.9K

Thankyou. My sister is always very last minute. My wife loves diamonds and platinum and the pendant is more special, I think. There are also earrings. She gave birth to our daughter this year after 4 boys, so she deserves it. I will direct her to Mum's net as I don't think she is aware of all this. Many thanks again.

I'd be really sad if after being with me long enough to produce 5 children my husband didn't know me well enough to decide.

A quick "what do you think?" to her sister who knows her, yes. But strangers on line?

I've only been with my fiancé 3 years but if someone suggested those 3 for me, he'd instantly be able to tell you which I'd go for.

PurpleMinionMummy · 24/11/2017 14:03

What with not being your wife or even knowing her, we couldn't say what she'd preferConfused

YoloSwaggins · 24/11/2017 14:05

Don't have a go at him for asking for advice jfc...

Go for the necklace, it's lovely and it sounds like it will be more her thing 😁

19lottie82 · 24/11/2017 14:05

My personal opinion is if you’re going to spend that much dough then let her choose. If she’s not keen on what you pick it will be a nightmare. Much better to get something you KNOW she will love and will fill her with joy everything’s she wears it!

Otterturk · 24/11/2017 14:06

100% pendant

What a darling you are

19lottie82 · 24/11/2017 14:07

ellisandra good for you Hmm
I’ve been with my DH 8 years and I wouldn’t trust him to buy jewellery I would love...... so what?

WooWooSister · 24/11/2017 14:10

There's about £5000 difference in price. How much do you normally spend on her? I mean if she expects a gift closer to £20,000 then she'll be disappointed with the Cartier cuff.

user4321 · 24/11/2017 14:13

I love the bracelet

notangelinajolie · 24/11/2017 14:14

Both are nice. My DH would probably buy the necklace. Personally, I prefer the bracelet because I'm not really the sentimental type and not a fan of heart shaped jewellery. But you know your wife best so I'll leave it to you. Sorry no help whatsoever!

Columbine1 · 24/11/2017 14:15

Bracelet
I don't like the necklace

MycatsaPirate · 24/11/2017 14:16

5 children you say?

For £10k you could send her off on a much needed 2 week holiday somewhere lovely with a friend or on her own.

But if forced to choose, then the first pendant.

And tell your sister to butt out.

YoloSwaggins · 24/11/2017 14:18

Also that is so depressing that that bracelet costs more than my entire savings 😭

YoloSwaggins · 24/11/2017 14:18

*necklace

butterfly990 · 24/11/2017 14:19

I would get a jeweler to visit her and create a bespoke item for her.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 24/11/2017 14:20

The bracelet is one that you lock onto your wife with a key and she then wears it always. Apparently this is a fashion?
Amongst whom? Women from the Middle Ages ? I hear Boodles do a fantastic chastity belt Grin

teaandtoast · 24/11/2017 14:22

I love the necklace @hermione linked to, very pretty.

I'd go with the first necklace, op. I don't like the bracelet or the second necklace at all.

GrabbyMcGrabby · 24/11/2017 14:24

So, it"s nearly 3pm! Which are you getting?

I prefer the necklace, but who knows, your wife may prefer the more recognisable-as-a-designer item bangle. The bangle is an everyday day item too.

SheSellSeaShells · 24/11/2017 14:24

prefer the bangle - can wear every day

Deux · 24/11/2017 14:25

Do your sister and wife have similar taste? My SIL would chose the bangle but I'd prefer the necklace.

I really don't think you'll go wrong with the necklace. I'd just ignore your sister!

What a lovely gift.

Coconutspongexo · 24/11/2017 14:25

The bracelet can easily come off ffs there’s a mini screw driver that locks and unlocks each side

randomer · 24/11/2017 14:26

Horrible. Giving her a prize because she deserves it for producing sprog. Ghastly.

randomer · 24/11/2017 14:28

I read today about Syrian children being fed damp newspaper to stop their screaming from starvation.
