To ask how much you weigh to be a size 16 (5ft 8)

Trying to lose weight yet again. I've a long way to go.
I'm sure I was a size 16 at 15st but that doesn't sound right? I'm 5ft 8/9 with a bug bust.
Doing small, realistic goals, in the hope it work!

I'm really cheered by reading this thread. I'm 5'8" and have never told a single soul (including dh) my weight, as I'm ashamed to be so heavy. I assumed everyone else my height was way lighter than me.
But now, I've found my people!!!!
I've been doing WW since August and have lost just over a stone and a half (and am now 13st9lbs). Another 2 stone to go, as they (and the BMA) say I should be 11st 7 maximum to be within the healthy band for someone of this height. Personally I think I'll look gaunt and haggard by then, but we'll see.
Most of my size 18 clothes are getting baggy now, but don't think I'd be comfortable in a 16 yet.

I’m size 18 5’4 and 15stone

I’m (ashamed) 17 st, 5ft6 and wear anything from a 18-24. I wear tight on my bottom half and loose on my top generally.

I’d say if it was fitted non stretch jeans I’d be a 20-22 depending on the shop.

OnlytheDepth I might be a bit older than you though. Many people of my age seem to subscribe to the adage, "Face or Figure."

I'm 5ft 4 and a size 14-16, I weight 12st 6.

I'm 5ft 7, and currently at 16st4lb. I was 18st2lb at the beginning of September. At that weight I wore a size 24. I want to get a bit more off before I buy any new clothes.

I started slimming world last January at 15st1, size 16-18 and 178cm tall, so you sound pretty similar. I lost 3.5stone although the first 3st came off much faster than teh last half! and having just found out I'm unexpectedly expecting I am busy putting most of it back on :(

This is fascinating. I'm 5'6.5" or 5.7 depending on who's measuring and am a 14/16 at 10 stone. But that's partly my bust -- 32F at the posh place (Rigby Peller) or 34D at M&S.

I wear a size 16 when im 15 stone and im 5 foot 7.

5'8 and size 16. Weight ranges from 13.5 stone to 16 stone for me, with my bust being a 36EE

Of course, it also depends where you carry the weight. Mine goes to my stomach and legs but fairly evenly spread between them. At 13.5 stone I could fit into some size 14 stuff but not trousers. I did have big thighs from playing hockey as well though.

Who wrote '10 stones for a 10'? I am 8 stones and can barely squeeze into a 10 !

HarHer I didn't write it but the last time I weighed 10st (about 10 years ago) I was a size 10. In fact, I would have needed an 8 on top because at 10st my bust pretty much disappears!

When I weighed 8 stone (a few months after the birth of my 1st baby, 17 years ago) my GP suggested meal replacement drinks between meals because I looked painfully thin with my collarbone and hip bones jutting out. I wore a size 6.

I am 5ft 9. My ideal weight appearance wise is 11 stone. I would wear a 10-12.

Ah, that explains it. I am 5' 4'', so significantly shorter.

I'm 5'8 and wear a 16 at 14 stone. Funny though, when I was 12 stone i could fit into a 12 and 11 stone a size 10. I've always been fairly heavy for my size.

I’m 5’8.5, weight 10st 6lbs and wear a size 10 in topshop/cos/whistles - can get away with an 8 in new look and Dorothy Perkins. I am a lot heavier than I look though and at 13st 13 I was comfortably fitting in a size 16 and a size 18 would have been too big.

fitbit no offence taken! Come to think of it I have just looked in the mirror with glasses on and I’m not looking great!
