To ask how much you weigh to be a size 16 (5ft 8)

Trying to lose weight yet again. I've a long way to go.
I'm sure I was a size 16 at 15st but that doesn't sound right? I'm 5ft 8/9 with a bug bust.
Doing small, realistic goals, in the hope it work!

I'm 5'6" currently 10st 12lbs and a size 14 top/12 bottoms if a bit stretchy.
It all depends on the brand. I'm also large framed with ample boobs that doesn't help!
At 12 st I was 16 top/14 bottoms

I'm 5 '8", size 16 and 12 stone 10.
In may this year I was 15 stone 5, YAY!

5'8" 12 stone 2. I would say I'm comfortably a 16 now - I can get away with stretchy waist 14s...and I'm not buying size 16s because this is pregnancy weight and I want rid but I just keep eating all the food

I'm someone who is big of bust and arse, and at the moment my thighs seem enormous! My target weight is 9 stone 8 at which point I should be able to wear a 10 on the bottom and 12 on top...if I ever get there again!

I think it all depends on bust size etc too. I have small boobs and can squeeze into a size 10-12 top even though I'm a 14-16 on bottom

Doesn't so much of it depend on how you like your clothes to fit? Some people like things a bit tighter; others like to try and conceal bulges. I know I could fit into stuff that's 2 sizes smaller but I don't because I don't like anyone seeing my lard! So I would describe myself as the size I feel comfortable in.

However DP is always telling me that I look better when I wear more fitted stuff (I have a couple of loose tops that he says make me look "like a block"!!).

Totally! As I posted earlier, I’m a smidge over 5’8” and 15 stone, I’m a size 16. When I was 12 stone I was a size 12!

See I’m 5’6”, bottom heavy but still only a size 12-14 at 13st!

I hit a 16 at around,15 stone. At 11 stone I'm s 14, Although unfit I still carry a lot of muscle, walking everywhere as I don't own a car, playing with grand children etc.

Astounded by these responses. I didn’t know there could be so much variation in dress size for women the same height and weight. Also, I am getting a very bad deal apparently. 10 and a half stone, size 14. At 11 stone I’m a 16.

To get to a size 12 need to loose 8 lbs - 12stone 4lbs

I’m a 16, 5’8, weighing currently about 14stone7. I would still be a 16 at 13.7 . I would prob drop to a 14 at 13 stone. I can get into a large 12 at 12 stone

5'9" and am in the region of 12.5st. Im a 16 on the bottom and can be anything from a 12 - 16 on top depending on where i shop

At 5ft 8 and 13 stone I was a size 14/16

I dropped to 10 stone last year and was a size 8/10 but anything over 11 & 1/2 stone and I start to need a size 12.

I think everyone varies massively, however I'm 5'10 and a size 16 @ 15 stone and I don't wear my clothes tight.

I was about 13.5 to 14st at size 16. I'm 5 seven and a half. When I got over 14st (205lbs) the size 16s were tight and I really needed an 18, but then started to lose some weight.

Currently I'm 178lbs and size 14s are quite loose. Target weight is 160 lbs. If I can get to size tens being comfortable - great, but it's normal BMI I'm aiming for more than a clothes size.

Thank you all for sharing your info, there's such a massive range isn't there.

As someone said upthread: it depends on the clothes, material and how you like your clothes to "fit". My size 10 maxi dress fit me at 40 weeks pregnancy. I wasn't a size 10.

I definitely fall into the 1st per dress size
10 stone for a 10
11 for a 12
12 for a 14

Obviously there’s a bit of movement for clothes style and shop but as a general scale

On these threads I normally weigh heavy, not today!
