Aibu to feel I'm just painfully average?

Just that really.

I'm never going to be the one with the important well earning job. I'm never going to be the funniest or the cleverest. As I get older I realise that really there is no hope for success for myself and I should focus my attention on my DC so I can give them the springboard to help achieve whatever they wish in their own lives. Probably not explained it very well here, but I just feel like I'm not here for anything!

Your not even 30, I think you can do whatever you want. I think 30 made me feel a bit crap about myself too, I since went back to uni and if nothing else I feel great that I’m a achieving very high grades, wig high I didn’t think I would be able to manage. In many ways it’s easier than my first degree because I have more life experience, not that it was an awful grade or anything, but I get more from it now.

You are never too old, you just need to prioritise your time to be who you want to be.

Sorry to hear you’re feeling worse.
I’m average - average intelligence, average lifestyle. Below average looks and above average weight. There’s something to be said for the anonymity that being average gives you.
Please see your GP. I’ve been on anti depressants for four or five years and they help me stay on a more even keel. Pick up the phone tomorrow, for your children. They need their mum.
I can also recommend the book Write Therapy by Lyn Alderson, available from Amazon.

Your posts have changed tone OP, you do sound depressed. Your existence is a huge contribution to the lives of your children - you are their mum and the apple of their eye.
Concentrate on your health and happiness and the career/writing thing will come together when you're in the right place mentally.
Go the GP and definitely cuddle your children - they want you to.

How are you today, op?

Some high achievers do a great job of wrecking our planet with their lifestyle and business interests or making other people miserable.
I don't think putting your ambitions on to your children is a good thing. Very few of us will be remembered in 100 years time, that's OK. Just try not to damage the planet and other people too much and enjoy yourself whilst you're here..

How are you feeling today, OP?

nonevernotever · 28/11/2017 18:46

Been thinking of you a lot OP - hope you are feeling a bit better.
