To think that bar soap is perfectly acceptable?

I only use Dove bar soap. Shower gels tend to bring me out in a rash (sensitive skin) and this is the only thing I've managed to find that does. Also the Dove shower gel is expensive.

I had a friend stay over last night and when she went to get a shower I gave her a new bar in a box and she asked if I had any shower gel. When I told her no she said I was rude for not picking some up because I knew she was coming and not everyone likes to use bar soap.

AIBU to think it was perfectly fine or should I have got shower gel in? I'm panicking a little now as I have another friend coming to stay in a few weeks.

She was very rude and I would have her to stay again.

I think the who 'beauty bar' thing vs soap is just marketing by the way.

I prefer soap these days unless it's a really nice oily shower gel.

I'm happy to share bars with other people, I don't rub it directly on my body, I rotate it in my hands first.

I buy my soap at the farmers market and its posh aromatherapy soap that lasts for ages as its really hard. Agree if it looks a bit manky you put it under the hot tap but I couldn't do my job if a bit of soap touched by other people gave me the vapours

It's rude of her to make comments. If she was particular, she should have brought her own. I even take my own whenn I visit my parents.
