Apologies if someone has posted this before, but I've just found this Guardian article from a few days ago.

Brexit, the ministers, the professor and the spy: how Russia pulls strings in UK
The charges filed against a Trump aide shocked the US – but also shed new light on the complex connections that link Russia to Brexit and the Foreign Office
www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/nov/04/brexit-ministers-spy-russia-uk-brexit

Takes the lid off the box to see how the Russians have been very busy making friends in the UK.

Just to show how intertwined the social circles are, @SarahBSmithVA, the wife of the Matthew Elliot (Vote Leave, Conservative Friends of Russia) is Chair of the US Republicans Overseas UK.

From the Guardian article:
Most extraordinary of all, when he announced his engagement on Twitter on 10 January 2014, the first person to congratulate him was Sergey Nalobin. “@matthew_elliott @SarahBSmithVA congratulations, guys! All the best in the long-long journey.” Sarah Smith – now Elliott’s wife – responded warmly: “thank you!! I’m excited to have a great partner next to me :)”

Just over 18 months later, Nalobin was “expelled” from Britain.

Like I say, Russians making lots of friends.

Jeff Sessions: "Yes."

Ew. This is from 2012. I'd missed this issue completely.

Tory blushes deepen over activities of Conservative Friends of Russia
Group finds itself unravelling amid concerns over its 'political direction' and claims it is uncritically cheerleading for the Kremlin
www.theguardian.com/politics/2012/nov/30/activities-of-conservative-friends-of-russia

The emails reveal that Nalobin received explicit instructions from Moscow to deepen co-operation between the Tory party and Putin's United Russia party in the Council of Europe parliamentary assembly.

Tory MPs have repeatedly voted with their Russian colleagues against motions the Kremlin regards as hostile. Privately, several Tory MPs have voiced misgivings about this alliance, and argue that it damages Conservative credibility on human rights.

...Royal adds that he has apologised to [Labour MP Chris] Bryant, who survived a Tory attempt this week to unseat him as chair of the all-party parliamentary group on Russia, a body known for its tough anti-Putin stance.

Biden believes Trump is a never-to-be-repeated aberration in Presidential history.

Agreed, as soon as I heard Mays speech I knew something was brewing in the background with regards to links Russia. Somethings about to blow.

FYI: Jeff Sessions will testify today before the House Judiciary Committee about issues facing the DOJ. He's expected to get grilled by Democrats on Russia.

Biden believes Trump is a never-to-be-repeated aberration in Presidential history.

He wishes! Sadly I think the whole Trump debacle has debased US politics and shifted the window of what’s acceptable.

badbadhusky · 14/11/2017 12:19

I would not be remotely surprised to hear damning evidence of Russian interference in Brexit.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 14/11/2017 12:47

Don't forget that Hamilton said this in 1792

When a man unprincipled in private life desperate in his fortune, bold in his temper, possessed of considerable talents, having the advantage of military habits—despotic in his ordinary demeanour—known to have scoffed in private at the principles of liberty—when such a man is seen to mount the hobby horse of popularity—to join in the cry of danger to liberty—to take every opportunity of embarrassing the General Government & bringing it under suspicion—to flatter and fall in with all the non sense of the zealots of the day—It may justly be suspected that his object is to throw things into confusion that he may “ride the storm and direct the whirlwind.”

Fekko · 14/11/2017 13:32

apart from the possessed of considerable talents bit, that is uncanny!

I see that Venezuela has defaulted on its debt. That’s a MASSIVE humanitarian crisis just waiting.

Venezuelan debt default

(Things are already bad there without this happening.)

I think we should wager how many times he says recollection and recall. He's just said it 7 times in the last 20 seconds.
