Too late for trick or treating now??

Is it too late now do you reckon? There was a stabbing near me (not my road) so took 2 hours to get home as all roads closed. Do you think it's too late now. We had a knock about 10 mins ago so I assumed people are still out. Just wondering.

Most of my street had run out before seven, there was a few parties going on, one had about 20 children so people ran out a lot sooner than they were expecting.

I thought you were wanting to know when you could start eating the leftovers!

We stay open until 9pm. Im a working parent and I don't get home until 6.30

That stabbing also made my journey home a nightmare. Missed all the trick or treaters

Scribblegirl · 31/10/2017 20:34

I'm SE London - where was the stabbing?

BackBoiler · 31/10/2017 20:34

Yeah, the kids around here aren't that threatening in their fairy wings and batman masks

Did you answer the door to my kids?

Cheeseontoastie · 31/10/2017 20:40

Plumstead high street. From what I read it was a fight with a stabbing and 3 police officers injured but that was on fb I haven't had the time to read the article yet.
Was a nightmare as it was on the way to pick my children up from school then had to go shops then home. Took double the time.

ropsley you teach your children to stay away from strangers? How sad.

Scribblegirl · 31/10/2017 20:59

Ah thanks cheese. Sorry it was such a nightmare. I'm more on the Croydon side of SE but we've had our fair share lately. Very sad.

Stabbings are rife here unfortunately.
Hopefully we get better luck next year and go out early.

Our last were at about 7pm and we had four groups in total (20 children). The leftover loot has been squirrelled away for party bags for DC3's upcoming birthday.

Some years we get loads of children. It was dry and reasonably mild last night. I've no idea why we didn't get more.
