Feeling a tad guilty.

I just got a Bomb Cosmetics one delivered which looks amazing. It’s all bath bombs and soaps! 24 of them too. Think it was less than £20 on Amazon.

If it suits her it sounds like a lovely present

Lifeisforliving25 · 29/10/2017 15:23

I spent 35 pound on a tsum tsum advent calendar for DD4 🙈Your money spend it how you like.

Katedotness1963 · 29/10/2017 15:24

I wouldn't buy for one of mine and not the other, but it's your family, your money, do what you want.

People are being mean on so many threads today. I get it OP, you thought your daughter would like it, but are now worrying about the amount you have spent on an essentially frivolous item. A form of buyer's remorse.

If she likes it, it's a good gift. Better than £30 on something average. She will enjoy it over Dec, and you will enjoy seeing her enjoy it. It's not getting you into debt, so it's money well spent. So don't worry!

RaskolnikovsGarret thanks for understanding.

Not unreasonable at all, I got my DD the No7 one but if I’d seen this one I’d have got it as some of the stuff in the No7 one won’t be of use to her.

Cheese advent calendar???

MorrisZapp · 30/10/2017 11:02

Is there a dilemma here at all? If so, are you able to say what it is?

Rebeccaslicker · 30/10/2017 11:04

I would do the same - but I would treat it as one of the Christmas presents, IYSWIM.

I am doing the same for DP except with the Beerhawk one. It's about £65, but it's one of his presents, so one less thing to buy and wrap Grin

So you're really buying her a makeup set, dressed up as an Advent calendar. I think that sounds rather sweet, she'll have something to be a bit excited about every day in December.

As pps have said, it's your money, your choice. When it comes to feeling guilty, well, if the total cost of the makeup items would be about a quarter of what you'd paid for the calendar, I'd be questioning whether I was getting value for money, and thinking I should really buy the items and then make my own Advent calendar or equivalent. But if the markup is reasonable for what you're getting (I'd expect to pay more for them being packaged as an Advent calendar, just not several times more) then I can't see any need for guilt. Your dd doesn't sound like a spoilt brat in the least, and £60 on makeup for a teenage girl isn't completely out of the ball park if you have the cash.

A bit like my post, but what is the point of this AIBU?
You clearly don't think you are.

BTW, my kids get an advent calendar from the Poundshop. No stealth boast from me, but they are chocolate.
