I really want one. They are so pretty. Lots of different beads and things that can be added.
But are they a bit common?

I am torn.

I never judge anyone who has a Pandora bracelet but I just don't get why anyone would want what loads of other people have? My bestF's DD has one but now she is late 20's she wouldn't dream of wearing it, it was a fad in her teens and sorry but I do think it's a bit teenagery.

I don't mean this to sound judgey and understand that the charms have meaning for the individual.

However, I really dislkike anything that everyone else has got! There are so many fantastic struggling individual artistic jewellers out there, I would so much prefer something either made specially for me or something that is one of just a few. For a big birthday, my dearest friends clubbed together and went to an independent jeweller and bought me a lovely silver necklace with big links and a charm on it that was made especially for me. I'll never see anyone wearing the same and I like that.

Plus I think they are ridiculously overpriced, you can get so much more for your money from an individual independent jeweller.

Cherry I took you listing price as an indication it's not common. Regardless of however much you spend on one they're still common. people que out the stores where I liveto buy more "individual" charms. Price tag doesn't change that

I used to have a lovelinks bracelet, which is very similar to Pandora and found the design pinched the skin on my wrist and it was really uncomfortable to wear. Also the beads, like Pandora were very expensive when you consider how little silver they contain.
You could easily spend £400 on the bracrlet and charms but you won't be buying something that retains any of this cost if you wanted to sell it on later. If you don't mind that, then fair enough but I think you could do better if you were looking to spend that sort of money.
Mine was similar to the one below (hope link works). It was so uncomfortable that I got rid and could barely give it away.

This is the attitude I don’t get. Unless you hand make everything yourself, thousands of other people have the same possession/clothes/jewellery as you do.

Preferring a Tiffany bracelet to Pandora is just preferring one collection mass produced stuff to another, for example.

eBay!

OP if you are still here, probably not, and you still fancy a Pandora bracelet look on eBay. Like most average priced jewellery they really don’t hold their value so you can get some excellent deals on eBay.

Or maybe don’t, I’ve developed a bit of a habit of looking, wont pay more than £10 for a bead, so shiny, pretty bargain, hard to resist. 😂 Have had a couple of fakes but easy to return for a refund.

Love my bargainous bracelets!

I dont like them but who cares. There ate things that I wear that other people would hate as well.

I am not a fan mainly because they are everywhere. If I was going to spend a chunk of money I would prefer something more quirky and individual.

Common in that everyone seems to have one. And will probably date - it was ‘gate bracelets’ when I was growing up. But everything seems to date so by that logic nobody would ever buy anything!

Yes agree Cherry but I don't like Tiffany either! I wouldn't dream of buying anything from either Co.

I was in an airport looking at Tiffany stuff in their high end shop and could not get over the inflated prices. You're just paying for the fact it is Tiffany but I wouldn't want to do that, I have no need to impress anyone! There was a ring there that was so so similar to one I had, but mine was better IMHO, and it was about 10 times the price of what was paid for mine and the value of mine has steadily gone up.

Of course my washing maching might be the same one as NDN or my phone or whatever but when it comes to individual jewellery I want to get something that isn't mass produced by a 'name' that people seem to covet for some bizarre reason.

Will one bracelet fit 14 charms?

Ahh: I’m reading this thread and it reminded me to get mine out of my jewellery box, I haven’t worn it for 2years, and was pleased to see my charm colours match my Fitbit, so have popped it on to wear next to it 😃. Honestly, I couldn’t give two hoots what people think!

This snobbery around ‘mass produced’ stuff (not just Pandora) is annoying and quite ironic, as unless you make all your own clothes and jewellery I promise you there’s thousands of other women walking around wearing your ‘unique’ piece

That is inaccurate. Most of my jewellery has been made by a couple of artist jewellers I know. It is actually unique and carries the hallmark of the Edinburgh Assay Office.

DaisyRaine90, possibly, mine has 13 and space for a couple more, but some are pendant charms and those take less space. Halloween Smile

Roussette · 29/10/2017 11:14

Agree Rose my special jewellery has been made by a mixture of one off pieces made by independent jeweller who makes stuff to your design, also handing over some junk gold (broken bracelet, old stuff I don't like) and getting a piece made out of it, and a friend who makes and sells jewellery and I've for instance given her a pendant I've bought abroad and she has made something around it so I can wear it.
So unless I have a stalker no one will be wearing any of this!

I have to admit though, that I rarely wear it as I don’t particularly like anything on my wrist long term except for a slim watchBlush

My Pandora is lovely, I stuck a heart theme when collecting charms and the effect is quite stylish.

I think they are a bit dull. By spending that kind d of money you could get something a bit more imaginative
