I don't want 'easy peelers' I want satsumas.

As title says. It seems that satsumas have completely disappeared off the face of the earth. I can only find them in Marks and Spencer’s. Satsumas are one of the greatest things about winter. I don’t want clementines, mandarins or anything else I want satsumas. It’s not that late in the season! 😡

Oh Satsumas Grin my favourite food. I got a bag of 'scary' Halloween themed ones from Morrisons today for 75p

drigon · 24/10/2017 00:37

Satusmas are delish., as you all say, but very rare in my neck of the woods.

Thank God! I thought I was the only one. My DH doesn't understand.

Satsumas seem to be very seasonal these days. Just bought a bag from tesco for £1.

Apileofballyhoo · 24/10/2017 00:53

Gave up buying them years ago due to easy fucking peelers. But I'm going to search for proper ones this week, if they are to be found!

LittleNoSleep · 24/10/2017 21:44

Satsumas bought in Aldi today. Come on down!! Beware: Placement next to Easy Peelers. Choose carefully.

Crumbs1 · 24/10/2017 22:11

Satsuma are delicious. Nasty net bags full of tiny, green fruit generally when I remember huge, sweet fruit with pith you could strip for ages. I don’t buy those silly easy peelers.

GerdaLovesLili · 24/10/2017 22:28

I have Oronules apparently. I should probably get some cream for that.

Madwoman5 · 24/10/2017 22:41

Wanna stick my thumb under the skin, wiggle it about and pull that skin off in one hit. Sooooo satisfying.

UpsyDaisyluvsIgglePiggle · 24/10/2017 22:44

omg I know! I found some in Asda last week but just now when I've done an online shop online oranges, easy peelers or Clems. I don't want fecking clems! Luckily I still have 3 proper satsumas left. I should plant them and grow more Grin

Hippadippadation · 24/10/2017 22:48

My ALDI had satsumas this week. We stocked up!

MirandaWest · 24/10/2017 22:49

I found some in Asda

GoingRogue · 24/10/2017 22:51

Satsuma fan here too (now there's a line I never thought I'd find myself typing Grin).

Bought some lush ones in Asda last Thurs for 85p a bag. They were so nice I bought more yesterday, and am currently averaging 2-3 per day.

Clementines are the citrus fruit of Satan.

EEkk · 24/10/2017 23:32

OMG! Are you me, OP?

I feel a rage whenever I got into a supermarket looking for satsumas

Easy peelers? I want to know what fucking fruit it is. Are we so lazy as human beings thats all we're interested in.

I have no idea what easy peelers are, except they're not satsumas.

I hate clementines, and mandarins and all that nonsense.

EEkk · 24/10/2017 23:34

Sometimes, in pure intellectual pique, I will study "easy peelers" and their labels. There is often no further clue given to the name of the fruit.

Satsumas are one of the highlights of winter Smile.

HamSandWitches · 24/10/2017 23:35

Got some today in tesco but they are really sour

bananafish81 · 24/10/2017 23:44

I have found my people!

Easy peelers can get to fuck

I hate Christmas and everything Christmassy EXCEPT that it's satsuma time

Apart from the fact that the easy peelers taste horrible in comparison, they're also fundamentally nowhere near as easy to peel as a satsuma, where you have the satisfaction of peeling it all off in one go!

SabineUndine · 24/10/2017 23:47

Yes! I don’t give an arse how easy they are to peel. What do the buggers taste like?

SwedishEdith · 25/10/2017 00:14

Ooo, look, all little oranges are called mandarines I didn't know.

Caulk · 25/10/2017 00:23

Birmingham is full of them. Every time I want clementines I can only find satsumas. I really want tangerines but that’s a whole different story.

MargotLovedTom1 · 25/10/2017 18:59

They all taste different, and they look different too!

That's only a helpful answer if you explain how, Hilarious Wink. Satsumas: plump segments and juicy, yes. Couldn't tell you how clementines, mandarins and tangerines differ though.

NameChange30 · 25/10/2017 19:07

THEY ARE ALL INFERIOR and that's all we need to know.

ParadiseCity · 25/10/2017 19:28

The thing I like/hate most about easy prefers is that a song gets stuck in my head - possibly 80's and i dont know the real words - but in my head it goes 'eeeeeasy peelers!' All kind of jolly.

IllegalBlonde · 25/10/2017 19:29

Just picked up heaps of them at Asda - fragrant and yummy, Christmas is coming!

AtSea1979 · 25/10/2017 19:31

I got satsumas from Morrisons a couple of weeks back but they weren't proper. All the white stuff stuck to them and they tasted really sharp.
