I’ll start.

‘My god girl- You’re pregnant.’

Said by a Dr to a 14 year old me.

OP posts:
Gazelda · 20/10/2017 17:29

“You’re the most selfish person I’ve ever met” said to me by my SM, when I was about 10yo.

I’ve been determined to prove her wrong ever since. It’s shaped my career, hobbies and attitude to my own DD.

albedo · 20/10/2017 17:30

Both from my very nice consultant:

You're severely impaired in multiple areas and meet all the criteria for an adhd diagnosis.

And

The drugs are really good.

He wasn't wrong Grin

That was the day I began to accept myself for who I am and forgive myself for never quite cracking being 'normal'.

maddiemookins16mum · 20/10/2017 17:30

Aww, FooFighters made me go teary. Some, actually most, are utterly heartbreaking.

Kursk · 20/10/2017 17:34

Every storm runs out of rain,

by a stranger who noticed I was having a bad day.

yummyeclair · 20/10/2017 17:36

Don't you think you deserve a happy life? Said to me by a doctor who instead of giving me antidepressants after my divorce , spent half an hour chatting to me . As a result I got my mojo back and stopped feeling sorry for myself and eventually met my second husband at 40 and had my 2 boys at 41 and 42 years of age.Smile

chickenowner · 20/10/2017 17:36

Would you like to move in with me?

Said by my lovely DP 5 years ago. Smile

Balaboosteh · 20/10/2017 17:38

I love you but I’m not in love with you.
Said to me by DP of fifteen years. He left that night. I havent looked back! Grin

notthegumdropbuttons · 20/10/2017 17:40

"You're not wasting your time. Whatever IT is, you've got it"

Said by my tutor. Meant the absolute world after a lifetime of self doubt.

notthegumdropbuttons · 20/10/2017 17:41

yummy that's lovely. Flowers for all the sadness on here

ChristianGreysAnatomy · 20/10/2017 17:41

"It's not just anger you feel - it's rage"
Said by my therapist in my first session - I suddenly felt someone really saw me for myself and didn't loathe what they saw

"Yes me too I feel the same" dh after I first told him I had fallen in love

Twinmummyjojo · 20/10/2017 17:41

There’s the first heartbeat aaaand there’s the second. Being told by the sonographer I was carrying twins at 10 weeks

CanIBuffalo · 20/10/2017 17:45

It's very unlikely that you'll have chidren.

Well I love a challenge. Smile

mossyroundhill · 20/10/2017 17:48

"Her face looks like it's been run over"
Shouldn't have stuck with me, but it always has.

"Three words" DP and I say those three words every day now Smile

"Hello, babymossy!" Said to my DD when she was born, I was in shock I just said it over and over again.

"I love you very much mummy!"

"I'm sorry, mossy, there's no heartbeat."

Balaboosteh · 20/10/2017 17:50

Here’s a happy one: my now boyfriend, on hearing that my DP had walked out on me and the DCs - “Never mind darling. By the time you’ve had two scaffolders for the afternoon in a hotel in Marble Arch, you’ll be absolutely fine. Welcome to middle age!”
I was absolutely fine. Still haven’t had the scaffolders yet though Grin

Balaboosteh · 20/10/2017 17:52

Flowers for all the pain and loss on here.

FlappyFish · 20/10/2017 17:52

I just want our daughter back.

Said to me by parents, the night before I went into Psychiatic hospital. I was desperately ill with depression and addiction.

Each sobriety date they say well done.

Seeing my dad tear up almos broke me.

InternetHoopJumper · 20/10/2017 17:53

IcanMooCanYou I heard the same from my wonderful therapist when I was still in college.

" You don't have to do anything, but there are consequences to everything you do and don't do and it's up to you choose which you want and how to deal with them."

It took a few weeks to sink in and to apply, but it changed my life for the better.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 20/10/2017 17:55

Forgive yourself

Kitee · 20/10/2017 17:55

“You don’t have to look at the screen.”

I did 😞

BigUnicornsDontCry · 20/10/2017 18:01

‘The cancer has come back and it’s terminal’ - my mum
‘Are you fucking stupid’ my mum’s last words to me.

‘You might be clever but you’re actually stupid in a lot of ways’ - my dad

‘You’ll never be able to wear the clothes normal girls wear if you don’t lose that belly’ said to 10 year old me.

Ilovevegas · 20/10/2017 18:02

'Your sisters been found dead'

10 years ago next month, she would be 32 now.

'its a girl'
'It's a boy'

My two gorgeous DC's Flowers who make my life a happier & brighter place to be.

SundayGirlB · 20/10/2017 18:10

Ilovevegas that happened to me too.

'He's dead, he's killed himself' mum about my 19yo brother. Would have been 26 now.

'Its happened again, I don't know if she's going to be ok' my step dad about my mum. She'd had a stroke but survived.

'Anti-pitta, I love you!' When my friend who'd I'd been in love with secretly for years accidentally let slip he felt the same laughing at my (not funny) joke. Married last month!

user1465335180 · 20/10/2017 18:11

"Your Brother's dead"- my DM on the 'phone- he'd taken his own life but it took her months to accept that.
"I don't like the look of that"- surgeon whose biopsy showed I had cancer.
"Your Mother has mixed dementia" -Dr who finally gave me a straight answer about DM strange behaviour.
On the plus side - cancer has now gone and life is good again.
Much sympathy to all of you, to the OP who found her cat dying, your post broke my heart

DeathByMascara · 20/10/2017 18:21

‘It’s leukaemia’. Mum, about Dad, last June.

‘It’s 90% likely he’s had a relapse’ My brother, about Dad, 4 weeks ago.

‘Relapse within a year of stem cell transplant is a desperately bad situation’ Dad’s consultant, same day as above.

LucyTheLocalBike · 20/10/2017 18:26

"I'm sorry but he cannot survive this" - the dr talking about my 17 day old son

"Who the hell will ever want you now?" said by H 3 months after my first child was born

"Leave him mom" said by same daughter 23 years later. It's a work in progress
