I’ll start.

‘My god girl- You’re pregnant.’

Said by a Dr to a 14 year old me.

OP posts:
Inktober · 20/10/2017 15:51

"of course you can, if you want to"

By my head of sixth form when applying to Uni.

I got into the uni I wanted. on the course I wanted; I haven't looked back.

ultrababy · 20/10/2017 15:57

‘Thank god it didn’t happen to your brother’
Said by my dad after I told my family I had been subjected to sexual abuse for 8 years by a family member.
He denies ever saying it.
Somethings you don’t ever forget.

Ohyesiam · 20/10/2017 16:03

bishbad Flowers
So glad you have your wonderful husband

WhatHo · 20/10/2017 16:06

Bloody hell I'm going to do a happy one before I lie down and weep.

"You don't have to walk down that path, you know. You can choose another one. There are so many others."
Therapist to 29 year old self. I damn well did choose another path.
1namechanged - so can you. You really can. It takes just one step, and that is believing that you can.

"I think I might... really like you"
3 weeks into a new relationship, said to my 31 year old self who thought she'd missed the bus, what with all the wrong paths.
We are 10 years and two DDs down the line and I still can't believe how lucky I am, well worth the wait. He seems to feel the same Grin

Jellycatspyjamas · 20/10/2017 16:11

"For as long as it takes, at your pace, in your own time we'll chip away at this."

A most excellent therapist when I finally disclosed extensive childhood abuse. We worked together for over 5 years, she was entirely true to her word and literally changed my life in just about every way. I owe her a huge debt of gratitude.

MrsFring · 20/10/2017 16:15

Dh: "" yes, I did sleep with her ( my friend), but it meant nothing".

Neither did I, presumably.

rosareine · 20/10/2017 16:17

Call the police because I'm going to murder you.

Said by my then OH who was pressing 999 on my phone and throwing it at me.

It took me 6 months after that incident to end it.

juddyrockingcloggs · 20/10/2017 16:18

You’ll never get pregnant naturally.

RiversrunWoodville · 20/10/2017 16:28

Good: "Are you happy in our relationship?" No and I ended it you selfish abusive bastard.

"There's still a heartbeat we're putting you on aspirin and bed rest" after a massive bleed with clots at 9 weeks in a pregnancy after losing twins

Bad: "I'm sorry there's no heartbeat this one is gone too"

"We need you in surgery now we can't stop the bleeding" losing the twins and haemorrhaging so badly I almost didn't make it, has changed me and my MH til this day.

"I think I'm going to be sick" January 31st 2009 the last day I have felt remotely well and been the person I used to be

MattBerrysHair · 20/10/2017 16:33

I think you absolutely do have aspergers!

Said by Sarah Hendrickx after she assessed me 3 years ago. Proper game changer, for the better.

Redglitter · 20/10/2017 16:39

Changed for the worst 'Hes gone now' was the ICU nurse looking after my dad who came into his room where were sitting with him as he slipped away

For the better: Congratulations you're an auntie 😊

LottieandSeth · 20/10/2017 16:44

Your husband sexually assaulted me.

Told to me by my best friend. I told him to leave. She’s still my best friend

Easilyflattered · 20/10/2017 16:50

"You would care less about what people think of you, if you knew how little they do."

Permission to stop being such a people pleaser granted.

FooFighter99 · 20/10/2017 16:54

Whatever the paramedics said when they decided to stop trying to resuscitate my dad (I can't remember, the whole day is a blur)

He died aged 47, when I was 11, from an undiagnosed PE.

Worst. Day. Ever.

Flowers for you all

needtogiveitablow · 20/10/2017 16:54

You haven't had a miscarriage and the heartbeat is strong

Said to me when I was 9 weeks pregnant with DD and had suffered a huge bleed a couple of weeks before - I had already had a scan booked due to concerns about the viability of my pregnancy and was told to attend to ensure there was no need for surgical intervention. Turns out I had a huge clot inside my womb and DD had clung on in there - I will never forget the nurse that told me and how happy she was. It made me realise how poorly some people are treated when they go through the worst, the level of disregard when I was told I had miscarried was a shock to me but from speaking to many other women who have been through this it's fairly common 😞

Fadingmemory · 20/10/2017 16:54

Will you marry me? I did and wish I hadn't.

FooFighter99 · 20/10/2017 16:56

"Is it too soon to tell you I've fallen in love with you?" said by now DH when we'd only been dating for a week or so...

We've been together 10 years next Wednesday Grin and I fucking love the bones of him!!

Badbadtromance · 20/10/2017 16:58

You have the worse case of arthritis the consultant has seen in someone your age and you'll end up in a wheelchair said to me by my GP last week Sad

Badbadtromance · 20/10/2017 16:59

He's dead said by local pc after husband died

Thinkingofausername1 · 20/10/2017 17:08

You’ve passed your driving test. Which means I’ve won the bet (driving instructor). Glad she had so much faith in me!! Shock

BlueThesaurusRex · 20/10/2017 17:10

‘Do you know what this means? You were able to conceive and should be able to do it again!’

What the nurse said to me after I care round after emergency surgery to remove a ruptured ectopic pregnancy plus a Fallopian tube.

I had told her before investigation and surgery that we didn’t think we were able to have children...

Thankfully, she was right!

HulaMelody · 20/10/2017 17:12

Will you marry me?
I'm so sorry we can't find a heartbeat - when it was confirmed my daughter had died and would be stillborn
It's a girl! (X 2 - her rainbow siblings)

Crispyturtle · 20/10/2017 17:20

‘Well why don’t you apply then?’ Said to me by OH say in Wetherspoons one Friday night after I’d been moaning about my boring job and wishing I could retrain as a Midwife. That was eight years ago, and the best thing I ever did.

‘It’s a girl’ twice Smile

Ive been incredibly lucky in life so far, I know it won’t last forever so I’m going to make the most of it while it lasts. Flowers for everyone who’s been through hard times.

BroomHandledMouser · 20/10/2017 17:23

Goodness this thread Flowers

Life throws so many different emotions at us, good and utterly bereft. So many touching words, love to all

Firenight · 20/10/2017 17:25

“I think I’m in love with my best friend. But I’m married to x”

Said to an old friend I met randomly on the way to work and never seen again since.

“You’d better do something about that then mate” he replied.
