Just that really. Want to see if mine seem normal compared to other people.
Some of mine include:

Gassy
Constipation
Mild cramps
Anxiety
Mild dizziness

OP posts:
Neededastealthname · 19/10/2017 19:59

Dodgy stomach
Palpitations
Breathless
Anxiety
Really low self esteem
Exhaustion
Sore boobs
Lower back ache
Dizzy spells

I'm 30 and have had horrible PMS since my periods started, can't wait for menopause!

I started magnesium and b vitamins recently and it's definitely helped.

Mumthedogsbeensick · 19/10/2017 19:59

Low mood
Tearful
Rage
Horrendous anxiety and panic attacks
Nausea
Diarrhoea
Tender breasts
Acne
Feel hot especially at night
Dizziness
Clumsiness to the point I daren’t drive the car 1-2 days before my period
I once discussed these symptoms with a female doctor who simply suggested I get pregnant!!!

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 19/10/2017 20:00

About a week before:

Anxiety/short temper
sore nipples
mouth ulcers/aching teeth
flare up of hypermobility symptoms (painful joints/chronic heartburn)

Sometimes I get all of those, sometimes just one or two and they can change in severity. This month it was painful teeth, mouth ulcers and slightly sore boobs and my knees and ankles were really not happy.

Thankfully I no longer get the extreme low moods (black days) I got as a teenager - I'd spend the day crying and have very intrusive self harm/suicidal thoughts. They were pretty scary and I'm grateful they didn't go on too long and got better as I got older.

OpheIiaBaIIs · 19/10/2017 20:01

None.

I've had a Mirena coil for nigh on 20 years (on my fourth or fifth, can't remember which). No periods or symptoms the whole time.

I was a fucking monster for a week every month before, though. Severe pain, bloating, eating everything in sight, sore boobs and a fearsome temper. And that's before the five days of flooding even got going.

Mirena is the best thing that ever happened to me.

WeeBeasties · 19/10/2017 20:02

My legs hurt. Like a dull ache all down the front.

DesignedForLife · 19/10/2017 20:03

Insane hunger. Prone to grumpy moods and random bursting into tears because everything is the end of the world.

Teddy7878 · 19/10/2017 20:04

I might try the mirena once I've had a baby. Promised myself I'd never go on any sort of contraception again (other than condoms which my OH is fine with as he doesn't mind them) as the pill turned me a bit insane. Now that I'm getting these awful PMS symptoms (and also ovulation symptoms too) I might change my mind

Lidlfix · 19/10/2017 20:05

Swollen, tender boobs
Bloating
Constipation (then period poo)
Javelin arse
Sad or snappy
Clumsiness
Fuck all spacial awareness, hate parking and walk into furniture

PussCatTheGoldfish · 19/10/2017 20:17

Very similar to the above. Usually for a week before. And now occasional night sweats, dizziness and headaches/neck aches.

bluejelly · 19/10/2017 20:20

Sad, anxious, tearful and cross.
Also insomnia and night sweats.
I hate the week before my period.

Catra · 19/10/2017 20:21

When I was on the pill I barely had any symptoms. Then I came off it and had a huge nasty shock at what a "natural" period is like for me.

From about 5 days before I'm due I get irritable, anxious and argumentative - my poor husband can't do right for doing wrong. I struggle to sleep, can't concentrate, experience mood swings and can't control my emotions.

I came on my period yesterday (my wedding anniversary of all days - cheers nature). The day before that I was feeling borderline suicidal and kept bursting into tears – things that caused me to have a meltdown included a documentary on George Michael, being unable to open the battery compartment on the remote control and running out of oregano.

Then there's the feeling like I'm a balloon that's so full of air and pressure that I'm going to burst - it's like that tense moment when you're at the top of a high rollercoaster waiting to drop only it's sustained over a period of several days.

I keep having to tell myself these feeling will pass and its purely the hormones that are making me feel like hell because no matter that I go through this every month in the interim I always forget how bad it is - I think it must be my body's way of coping with the insanity.

silkpyjamasallday · 19/10/2017 20:22

It's quite comforting in a way to see that other people experience these things too. My periods effect me negatively both physically and mentally and I hate feeling so out of control, I'm breastfeeding and get PMS every month but often no actual period, which has the added stress of shit I'm pregnant. I'm like you OP, I don't really want anymore hormones in my body, the implant made me bleed constantly and turned me into a total bitch 24/7, as did the pill which I was prescribed to stop the bleeding. But having heard so many positive accounts of the mirena I'm tempted, my friend just got the copper coil taken out after a few months as she said she couldn't suffer the awful periods, and that has put me off. The no period potential with the mirena sounds good, but the implant also claimed no periods were a common side effect and everyone I know who had it had constant
bleeding.

scrabble1 · 19/10/2017 20:31

Terrible headaches that start early morning and won't clear, even with migraleve.
Hunger.
Very sore breasts
Emotional/cry easily
Swollen ankels

phoenix1973 · 19/10/2017 20:32

Forgot about aching joints and aching legs.

phoenix1973 · 19/10/2017 20:32

And sore jawbone.

iwantthegroundtoswallowmeup · 19/10/2017 20:35

-Lower back & abdominal cramp which are almost as bad as period cramps.
-Constipation
-Anxiety
-Anger
-Sadness
-Super hot feet at night. Makes them feel like they are radioactive
-Extreme hunger
-Nausea
-Severe bloating making me look pregnant
-Swollen hands

TriHard27 · 19/10/2017 20:35

Horrible cystic spots
Bloating - sometimes a full dress size
Paranoia, anxiety and evil mood swings
Swollen and sore breasts
Occasional lower back pain although this seems to have eased a lot over the ot few years

I pretty much just want to eat and sleep for the week before really. As soon as I come on my period the world is once again to rights, the week after is fine and then it all starts over again.

Shadow01 · 19/10/2017 20:36

For a day or two I’m starving, short tempered and just generally feel a bit off.
Compared to others, I think I get off very lightly.

FiddleFigs · 19/10/2017 20:39

Fury - for 2/3 days before, I’m in a continual state of barely controlable fury. Occasional nightsweats, sore shoulders/neck. And constipation.

earlybirdhasanap · 19/10/2017 20:39

I'm like Henry and Summer. I feel awful. I'd say suicidal. The rest of the month I'm fine but the few days before my period I cry constantly, pick fights, threaten to leave my partner. I get intrusive thoughts about committing suicide.
I know I'd never act on it. Or at least I hope I wouldn't. It's really scary to be honest. I have a doctors appointment next week to discuss as i realised last week something needs to be done.
Aside from the mental health side I get severe pain in the tops of my thighs. No "normal" menstrual cramps. Headaches. General low mood and a feeling of I can't be arsed to do anything.
None pre menstrual weeks im very active, do a lot of exercise. The house is immaculate. I'm a totally different person.

Teddy7878 · 19/10/2017 20:42

It's awful that some women have to suffer so regularly! They really need to develop a magic pill that stops all PMS symptoms. I was crying at an episode of come dine with me earlier. I never cry normally!

OP posts:
FeralBeryl · 19/10/2017 20:45

I feel so sorry for you all, but also glad that I’m ‘normal’ Hmm I’m getting literally all the fucking symptoms mentioned on this thread.
I’ve started St Johns Wort as I feel like the depressed side of it is starting to last longer each month, going to try magnesium too.

Definitely hitting 40 worsens things, I may even consider mirena.
How did people find it for weight gain?

Orangebird69 · 19/10/2017 20:47

Before ds, crippling cramps. Period poo.
Since ds - nothing physical whatsoever. Just a very very very short fuse for about 48 hours.

TheWickedWitchofWestYorkshire · 19/10/2017 20:48

For about a week, roughly a fortnight before I'm due on, I get:
Mood swings
Anger
Depression
Sore nipples
Spots
Itchy vulva

Then, a few days before I'm due on, I need a week constantly. As soon as I've washed my hands I'll be bursting again.

The day before, I have a period poo.

As soon as I come on I'm back to normal. Luckily for me (and my family), I have very long cycles so this only happens every 6 or so weeks.

aquashiv · 19/10/2017 20:51

Chocolate
Crisps
Tired
Headache
Bloating
No time for fools
