I bought this for a wedding...starting to fret that it I shouldn't wear it as its apparently not etiquette to wear white to a wedding? Is there enough colour in it to get away with it?

As others have said there is enough colour in the dress for it not to be bridal even better you are wearing coloured accessories too.

EmpressoftheMundane · 15/10/2017 20:37

I think it is fine. (I am an old fuddy-duddy who follows the rules too.)
I would judge it to be a floral print on an ivory ground. Perfect.

mumtoanangel · 15/10/2017 20:39

I really like it.

AnnieAnoniMouse · 15/10/2017 20:42

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but it's not a white dress, it's a floral dress. It is fine.

😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

Cancel the cheque.

You'll look lovely, I hope you have a good time! 🍹🍰

Absolutely no problem. Go for it.

Stressalot42 · 15/10/2017 20:46

That’s a floral dress, not a white dress

This ^^

Wish I could wear a sleeveless fitted dress without looking like a bowl of porridge in a suasage skin. Jel. Which is not the point of this thread. Just sayin.

tarheelbaby · 15/10/2017 20:53

It's a fine dress for a summer wedding - not too much white, especially with coloured accessories. But I wouldn't wear it to a wedding anytime between September and Easter because, with its white/ivory background and bright flowers, it's clearly a summer dress.

Giraffey1 · 15/10/2017 20:54

Think it’s lovely and you should wear it. It’s not white dress and by the time you have your accessories, handbag etc I can’t imagine anyone being remotely offended!

PinkPuffin · 15/10/2017 20:59

My mum wore a similar shape dress with big red roses on a white background to my wedding. Purpose-bought (though not in the UK). Was absolutely fine, especially as it was completely different from what I was wearing! So yes, go for it! Still not entirely impressed one of my friends wore a black dress, but hey ho

mummmy2017 · 15/10/2017 21:00

Lovely dress you could go anywhere in that dress.

Allthecake · 15/10/2017 21:24

I think it’s great! Just wear a pink or blue bolero or whatever with it. A friend wore a black dress to my wedding and another wore cream with a coloured scarf and although I noticed it I couldn’t have cared less, times are a-changing and who cares if great aunt Alice disapproves?

MytToeHurtsBetty · 15/10/2017 21:47

It's ok there's enough colour to make it okay

ethelfleda · 15/10/2017 21:54

That's fine - my mom wore something similar to my wedding. She looked lovely! It's hardly a wedding dress is it?
