It doesn't need to be anything earth-shattering, just something positive!

I'll start us off: I did what I've been meaning to do for five years and made a calendar of my cat! She's so photogenic so it was quite easy.

Your turn!

My DD (6) has finally learned to swim with no aids - we went for a family swim today and I was so happy seeing her confidence and pleasure in her new skill !
She wouldn't stop swimming and didn't want to get out the pool even though she was exhausted Smile

ladygracie · 14/10/2017 20:21

I asked my son (14) for a word to describe me & he sent me a text with 18 words on it - 17 of which were positive! He is so unlike this that it made my heart melt a bit. Smile

goingthruhell · 14/10/2017 20:29

Me and partner decided together to keep the baby and grow our family :)

JaceLancs · 14/10/2017 20:31

I had a lovely day out in the Lake District with DP just pottered - it was bliss

loveinanelevator · 14/10/2017 20:32

12yo ds completely cleaned his room with no prompting........I mean I think he’s after a later bedtime but it was nice to see it done without the nagging!!

FiveShelties · 14/10/2017 20:37

I walked today with a sleeveless top on - sleeveless top in Lancashire in October, what could be more positive than that.

sweetbitter · 14/10/2017 20:42

I had reblochon on toast. It was divine.

MummaTwinkleToes · 14/10/2017 20:44

Managed to paint my bathroom ceiling 4years after I should have.
Spent time with my big brother and just talked like when we were young when we used to stay up when everyone else had gone to bed.

bigfatbumfreak · 14/10/2017 21:11

I have not eaten 4X my own body weight in reconstituted potato snacks.

Racheyg · 14/10/2017 21:28

My ds2 whom holds his poo has done 2 poos in 3 days on day 3 of potty training.

Slowtrain2dawn · 14/10/2017 21:45

I waved my son off on his first cadet camp.
I helped someone out with a tricky problem.
I hoovered UNDER the sofa cushions.
I watched the kittens playing.
We (ok, DH) made progress on a mammoth garden project.
It's so good to do this as I feel a bit meh at the moment.

plominoagain · 14/10/2017 21:58

I let my greyhound loose in public for the first time ever , and he took off like a rocket . And then I called and he came back ! First time , no hesitation. And was SO pleased with himself. But not as much as me! All those months of training are paying off.

Lolodizzyone · 14/10/2017 22:06

Stuck to my diet! 100% :) only day 3 but am a chocoholic.
Caught runaway dog!

I was part of a team who saved a woman's life during a massive obstetric haemorrhage

tigercub50 · 14/10/2017 22:11

Good thread. Just googled promotional codes & saved £100 off an Argos mid sleeper bed for DD. Can I have more than one? DD had been given a way to deal with mounting anger & although it went a bit wrong to start with, it worked & also helped me to understand her a little better & understand my reactions to her frustration.

StrangeLookingParasite · 14/10/2017 22:18

I got the dead printer to the e-waste van this morning. One more bit of broken crap out of the house, hooray!

RightOnTheEdge · 14/10/2017 22:18

My ds was playing in the garden and came in saying "Come and watch me on my bike Mummy"
I went out and after a few wobbles he rode it away, first time ever without stablizers and he had worked it out all by himself.
He was so proud of himself Smile

StrangeLookingParasite · 14/10/2017 22:18

billyokey you Star!

ParanoidBeryl · 14/10/2017 22:21

I prepared for a presentation I'm doing on Monday. It's been hanging over me for several days.

not really that positive is it?

BitOfANameChange · 14/10/2017 22:28

This may sound a bit sad, but..

Having very recently left Ex after a long time, and finding I had zero social life and had lost friends, I made efforts to start anew with some people I liked. Today is my birthday, and quiet though it was, it was pleasant. And in addition, I felt pleasantly surprised by some lovely greetings on FB, including someone suggesting going out for drinks when they get back from a trip next week. Definitely sincerely meant, we went offline to discuss it, so looks like my efforts are paying off.

It's just a little thing, but it symbolises a lot to me. That I am actually worth the efforts of other people, and that I am someone people do actually like to be with. My rock bottom self esteem is slowly climbing back.

Sorry, that was long Blush

NickMarlow · 14/10/2017 22:33

I have a new nephew :)

ladymariner · 14/10/2017 22:39

namechange that's fab, hope you have a lovely time

I've had a lovely day out with dh, and have had a fab family night with him, ds and ds' gf, having a nice meal and watching a film together....nothing earth shattering but priceless xx

OSETmum · 14/10/2017 22:40

Ds (8) has been riding his new motorbike and is doing amazingly (big change from his old one). It was a lovely day and we didn’t get wet! I had a go too and really enjoyed it.

Allthecake · 14/10/2017 22:40

SmileandNod you sound lovely and you can no way be a failure with such a sweet son Smile The housing market is a complete bastard and I wish you luck finding somewhere nice. Ignore the smug gits, they’re just ignorant.

For me, I think I felt my unborn baby hiccuping for the first time Smile

Great thread OP!

RemainOptimistic · 14/10/2017 22:41

Went out for lunch with DH, DS and DDog. Had a cheeky glass of wine. DS sampled various bits of lunch and was adorable throughout. DH and I even had a conversation about current affairs Grin
