Or is anyone having a worse day?

Just back from overseas and my editor messaged me "meet up tomorrow?" I had had a lazy day Wednesday and was catching up on housework yesterday when he messaged and I said yes. Fab, days out with the boss are always great and he said it involves free drinks.

So yesterday....bloody yesterday I actually started getting ready. I put my jeans in the wash, put oil on my hair as it was a bit crispy from being on holiday dry and thought, if I don't get all the oil out in tonight's shower I have time to wash it again in the morning. Sorted. Jeans out the washer, threw them over the airer as dryer was already busy catching up with holiday stuff and washing in general.

Planned to meet my editor at noon, so get my jeans off the airer, still damp, it's gone 10am and I have to leave at 11am to walk to train station. No time to t throw them in the drier now so I'll have to suck it up. (He wouldn't tell me full details of where we are going, but I needed to dress v casual and I only have one pair of smart enough to leave the house in jeans)

I had planned to do Dutch braids, got one side perfect, other braid I just couldn't get to sit right so gave up and put in a ponytail. Pulled on damp jeans and the shirt I was hoping to wear to see a huge stain on shirt, grrrr.... easy to change my top but still another delay.

Change dirty shirt for clean one, but the new one seems too short with these jeans, needs vest underneath. I have loads of flesh coloured vests, and yup, they're still in the laundry I had done loads but not enough apparently

Find third option top, and finally ready to leave the house. I'm on my way to train station and check my phone. Editor messaged me to say "make it a bit later, see you at 3pm"

Oh well, it gives me time to finish my laundry but I've not seen my husband all week and now I won't be in when he gets home tonight.

I've got food poisoning coming out of both ends Sad

JaffaCakesForBreakfast · 13/10/2017 16:30

My partner broke a much repeated big promise to me and I’m 99% sure that this is the actual deal breaker. But my jeans are dry and my hair is nicely braided. Goes well with the red puffy eyes and snotty nose. Sad

CheshireChat · 13/10/2017 16:36

You know, I actually feel better now in a way as I realise my day hasn't been quite that bad. Though some posters are going through a hell of lot.

Delilah21D00LoT · 13/10/2017 16:42

No you're probably having the WORST day that anyone could ever have, no one could possibly have a worse day than you.

I do hope you sorted your girly plaits and managed to get your laundry done.

If that is all you have to worry about....!

My landlord has just told me he's putting the house up for sale, so yes pretty shit Sad

I found out today that its unlikely I will be pain free until the 18th Dec at least, the date of my next hospital appointment when possible treatment will be discussed. Until then I will have to cope with every one of my joints hurting with only Tramadol and amitriptyline to take the edge off. Feeling very sorry for myself as I go my hopes up that it would be sooner.

limon · 13/10/2017 17:32

Jesus Christ OP. If that's your version of a bad day you have a charmed life.

DavetheCat2001 · 13/10/2017 17:32

Aww I feel sorry for the OP..I think she just meant this as a bit of fun.

Sorry to everyone having a crappy day. Mine has been ok compared to most.

I'm about to open the Wine

Dixiestampsagain · 13/10/2017 17:39

Pfft sleigh- is that all you got to be worried about? Thank your lucky stars you don't have to work down t'mine.
Seriously, though, sorry the days gone badly for lots of you.

Dixiestampsagain · 13/10/2017 17:40

*day's

Had the week from hell.

Stress with work, things going much slower than I'd hope.

Migraine We'd, prob caused by aforementioned stress. Off half Wed and all yesterday. Still have headache today.

Been looking forward to weekend. DP promised he'd come straight home Sunday rather than pop in to best friend's for drink. He's been away all week and every weekend for the last 5, other than last weekend where plans we made fell by the wayside as this BF called and he went there and got drunk instead. Tells me this evening BF needs him to go to his on Sunday and help him with something. So another weekend where I only get to see him drunk. Lucky me!

MindfulBear · 13/10/2017 18:45

Definitely worse days out there.....

  1. New Nanny - resigned today - it’s only the end of week 2
  2. Sister was in Las Vegas at the music Festival and is still in shock at what she saw
  3. Trying to buy a new flat and the Seller pulled out at the 11th hour.
  4. Fucked Up at work and missed a really important issue in advice to a client.

Pass the Gin!

LadyVajarjarOnGin · 13/10/2017 19:07

Dutch braids firmly not in place.....

I accompanied my mother to her 5th radiotherapy appointment this week.

She has not complained once.

Bratsandtwats · 13/10/2017 20:02

No damp jeans or dodgy braids here, but I was in an oncology operating list today.

I'm sure my patients are having a worse day than the OP.

Glowsticksforthehoechicks · 13/10/2017 21:14

Skyechasemarshalsfanmum · 13/10/2017 21:24

I took my daughter swimming big thing as im depressed and anxious so have not been going out.

On the way home we got a taxi so dd whos 2 was not in a car seat.
We avoided crashing into one car when another ran into the back of the taxi. Had to get dd checked out shes fine but its knocked my confidence and i feel ill and bit sore from it all now.

Shockers · 14/10/2017 10:15

DH has his smacked arse face on Hmm. It's always a great day when that appears.
