I always said I was going to age naturally.
Until - early 50s - I start to look like shit.
Deep crows feet - didn't bother me til they started to creep down my cheeks.
My chin has got those strange wrinkles that Gordon Ramsey had before he got filled.
So, tell me what you've had done and were you happy with it.
Please.

Teeth whitening and Botox. Not 100% sure if I'd do Botox again ! Toying with a bit of filler in my lips at the min ! I'm 37

whoareyoukidding · 14/10/2017 09:16

Teeth whitening, botox, upper and lower eyelids, fillers - I love the results! Makes me feel so much better about myself :)

mishfish · 14/10/2017 09:21

I don't think it's really cosmetic surgery but I had my teeth straightened and polished. It's honestly changed my face for the better- even if I do sport a race horse chic look with lipstick on

I'd love a boob lift and implants (small ones though) and my nose straightened out slightly

allegretto · 14/10/2017 09:22

I never thought I'd say this but I would like my nose done. I have a bump at the top that has never really bothered me but now I need to wear glasses and it gets in the way!

TemporalUser5k · 14/10/2017 09:22

I had a jaw implant several years ago. You know you look at person and they have no chin like a Simpson's character? I looked like that.

I am so happy I had it done, it had upset me for as long as I remember. The pain wasn't bad, the worst was removing the bandage and feeling like my face was falling off and then feeling faint. It looked horrific for a few weeks, I was bruised and my face was literally square with a chin poking out! The swelling in my cheeks went down and I am so happy. The surgeon gave me the biggest possible implant as he said I was a severe case Grin

2 nose jobs, done on NHS for medical reasons.

My nose is now straight, but still has a bit of a bump on the end. I can live with it though. It didn't solve the medical issues: I still have sinus problems 55 years later (despite sinus surgery in '03) and the chronic earache I used to suffer turned out to be caused by impacted wisdom teeth.

LakieLady · 14/10/2017 10:03

I'm thinking about a bit of filler in my top lip, as it seems to be disappearing (I'm 62) and I'm running out of space to put my lippy.

I've also got a couple of "cat's bum" lines above my lip though, and I don't know if filler would help those or if they'd needs something else done.

I'm also paranoid about ending up with a shiny face or a mouth that doesn't move. Someone at work has had dreadful cosmetic surgery and now looks like Pete Burns.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 14/10/2017 11:46

Sometimes I want a nose job and other times I think "it's not that bad" so it's not really worth the hassle and money. I'm also toying with the idea of a brow lift as my upper eyelids are getting droopy and it would open my eyes up more. Sometimes I look tired when I'm not so I think it would really make a difference to my overal look. But then I read into it and the results only last a few years and it didn't say what happens after that time. I wouldn't want to go through all that only to look "worse" than if I'd just aged gracefully.

HappyCamperZZZ · 14/10/2017 11:54

I had my cheilioplasty on my lips. Its when they remove a strip of skin and sew it back up so your lip is raised upwards. Had 0 lips too - looks normal now. I was so ashamed of my mouth for years. Now i look normal. A thin scar but only if looking really hard.

Myheartbelongsto · 14/10/2017 11:56

The people I know that have had cosmetic surgery think no one can tell. Well we can and it looks ridiculous.

misscockerspaniel · 14/10/2017 12:09

When I was a teenager, I broke my nose in a road accident. I recently broke it again, so plucked up the courage to have a nose job and now I wish that I had done it years ago. I didn't even need any painkillers after I left the hospital.

rizlett · 14/10/2017 12:09

Is it true that taking Zinc tablets increases the life of Botox? [something I heard at a gay wedding.]

I've had laser surgery in 2001 [shortsighted with astigmatism] but if I was doing it again I'd make sure I only had one eye done so that I could use my other eye for reading.

MrsApplepants · 14/10/2017 12:46

I had breast reduction and uplift. Best thing I've ever done. Big matronly boobs gone, replaced with small perky ones, so much better on my frame. Clothes finally fit, dresses hang properly. I love them now. Why anyone wants big boobs is a mystery to me, they are a back aching hassle.

MulderitsmeX · 14/10/2017 15:13

I had a boob job and can totally recommend. Boobs were a b/c before and now an e (slim build so they look big but not enormous) they are a lot of fun! Blush

Pretty pain free and quick recovery.

and?
all you are saying is that obvious cosmetic surgery is obvious cosmetic surgery

Ermm · 14/10/2017 17:15

I’m 41. Botox and fillers in laugh lines and lips. The key is to get it done by someone who knows what they’re doing. Absolutely brilliant - no one would have a clue I’ve had it done but def makes a difference.

I actually need to go and get my lips done again because I’ve started to not be able to wear lipstick again (they are that thin). Made me realise what a difference it had made.

Botox when done well can also help with jaw sagging etc.

JaneEyre70 · 14/10/2017 17:18

I've lost just over 3 stone and need to lose the same again, then I'm getting a tummy tuck. After 2 c sections, I've got a horrid apron of skin that has never shrunk back and it looks a million times worse since losing weight Sad. Fully abdominoplasty is around £6k so I'm already saving.

TerracottaTurtles · 14/10/2017 17:50

Thanks for all replies. How do you find an excellent practitioner if you don't know anyone who has had anything done?

Botox... effects dont last long!

user1490465531 · 14/10/2017 18:10

saving for a boob job.....aim to save half and stick the rest on the credit card.

TemporalUser5k · 14/10/2017 20:08

To find someone I spent a good few weeks googling the exact procedure, going through forum after forum reading experiences of others and looking at their photos. Then did checks to make sure there was no record of the surgeon ever having a case brought against him as well as checking the level of aftercare.

chiquita1 · 14/10/2017 20:14

nose job
eye lift
brow lift
braces when i was 14
mini lift for lower face
lipo suction THREE times
I am 40

Fantasticday69 · 14/10/2017 21:33

Interesting thread. I always said that I wouldn't put myself though surgery for vanity reasons.
However 3 c sections later with muscle separation and a hernia I am seriously considering a tummy tuck when I lose some weight.
