To ask when it will be safe to watch Coronation Street again?

When will the awful kidnap story be over? And that Kylie nonsense be finished? I generally love Corrie but these stories have nearly tipped me over the edge.

When will it be safe to tune back in?

About 2049

HopefullyAnonymous · 10/10/2017 21:05

I'm not watching til Andy is free. It's beyond ridiculous. I know it's not real, but still. Phelan just makes me feel angry inside!

JustPutSomeGlitterOnIt · 10/10/2017 21:09

Same. I just can't bear it. My man keeps patronisingly reminding me 'it's not real' Angry but it's just so, so unpleasant.

CoughLaughFart · 10/10/2017 21:10

Why is Billy suddenly a thief? Makes no sense.

MusicToMyEars800 · 10/10/2017 21:15

We are all moaning about the same stuff on the Corrie thread Grin
It is just ridiculous at the mo.

ferriswheel · 10/10/2017 21:24

Oh, I thought the Corrie thread was just too big to read and catch up with you all.

I liked Phelan but that bloody cellar is beyond grim. And as for the vicar being a bad guy, its just too depressing for words.

I seriously used to love Corrie but since I got Netflix I really can imagining just ditching it. It is so, so tedious.

Billy's a thief?

healthyheart · 10/10/2017 21:26

And poor David's kids must be sooooo mixed up ....

MusicToMyEars800 · 10/10/2017 21:33

I feel sorry for David's kids, And for the kids that never seem to be home with their parents.

OP, there's a new thread, It's only 4-5 pages long so would be easy to read through Smile

Andrewofgg · 10/10/2017 21:35

Free the Weatherfield One!

ferriswheel · 10/10/2017 21:44

Thanks, I'll go and have a look. Am watching Doc Foster on Netflix now rather than Corrie. I feel a bit sad its not a good watch anymore, well for me anyway.

I have up with Corrie a few years ago and have what he Netflix's ever since. Really couldn't imagine that I'd ever stop watching but i really don't miss it

Lucisky · 10/10/2017 22:39

Gave up on corrie a couple of years ago when they (yet again) used cancer as a story line(fizz s kid). I don't find cancer entertaining, having lost friends and family to it, so I stopped watching, after 30 years of loyalty. And I have never missed it either.

ferriswheel · 11/10/2017 06:57

Lucisky I'm sorry to hear that.

And yes I agree, I realise I miss weeks of those stories out too.

Yeah, I'd actually buy myself back a fair bit of time if I stopped watching it. It used to be a firm favorite.

ferriswheel · 11/10/2017 06:59

Actually that means the only thing I watch on normal tele is Cold Feet, but surely that will be on Netflix soon enough too.

MusicToMyEars800 · 11/10/2017 10:39

Doctor Foster was good for the first series, the second series was just craaazzy Grin
I don't have Netflix, but am really considering getting it in the future.

Corrie has gotten stupid, but I watch anyway as there's normally nothing else to watch, I didn't watch it for years.

HarrietKettleWasHere · 11/10/2017 10:46

Rana is gay now too. The gay storyline has been done to death in Corrie!

MusicToMyEars800 · 11/10/2017 10:54

It has Harriet.
I know a few storylines that are coming up, seem ok, so will watch for those ones.

TurquoiseShine · 11/10/2017 11:08

I feel similarly Lucisky.

Stopped watching Eastenders for various reasons at the moment. Many scenes would not be out of place on a horror movie. The Girl in a Prom Dress being set alight (shades of Carrie). Its not engaging. Just sensationalist and depressing. I think at the moment they are filming someone having a mental breakdown even though she has loads of support just like in real life.

TurquoiseShine · 11/10/2017 11:09

^I'm not sure exactly, as I stopped watching in 2 weeks ago.

Finally gave into Netflix.

But really, just want a half an hour of not-too-heavy, but engaging TV to relax in the evening.

Is that too much to ask Angry?!

Bluelonerose · 11/10/2017 11:13

I really want to punch phelan in the face he is so irritating and "faking a car crash" how the fuck could you even do that??

charmedrose · 11/10/2017 11:35

The cellar scenes have actually made me stop watching. Are you listening Corrie scriptwriters?? They are depressing to watch and also beyond ridiculous. Angry

Katedotness1963 · 11/10/2017 16:27

Oh god! Is Rosie back? I haven't watched since David's sister with the mouthy, back chatting, sneering daughter came back. I could not watch her scenes. Tina? No. What was her name?

Giraffey1 · 11/10/2017 16:29

I know it's not real and it's a soap, but the storylines at the moment leave me shaking my head. Ridiculous. Not entertaining any more, just frustrating.
