Hartley Hare and Pipkins - am I the oldest Mumsnetter in the world?

There is another thread where a chaperone gave a child with SN a toy rat to keep them quiet. I read the thread and was appalled and yet comforted by the pictures of the rat. Didn't want to hijack that thread but it reminded me of Hartley Hare, who was a terrifyingly bad puppet in a kids show in my youth. The show was called Pipkins I think and included Topov the Monkey and a tortoise, whose name I can't remember.

Am I the oldest and/or most disturbed MNer? As, while Hartley terrified me he also brought joy to my heart because he was such a bad little shit! I think 70s kids TV may have been dominated by people on some sort of recreational substances to be fair.

Pebbles16 - omg yes!! Noah and Nellie

ProfYaffle · 04/10/2017 20:48

Hartley Hare! As a kid I was entirely oblivious to how awful looking he was, I loved him.

I'd forgotten about Woofits too, I had them on my bedroom walls.

ChampagneSocialist1 · 04/10/2017 20:49

Octavia the Ostrich in Pipkins was quite posh and had a high Wavery voice.

doctorcuntybollocks · 04/10/2017 21:00

From the eighties, Murun Buchstansangur, a little man in clogs who lived under the sink and had the same hairstyle as Kim Jong-un.

Maudlinmaud · 04/10/2017 21:03

Why did I look up the pogles witch?
Why? Why? Why?
I'm hoping the terrifying song was a YouTube add on.

Davros · 04/10/2017 21:04

"Oh it's Inigo Pipkin, it's Inigo Pipkin, Inigo the puppet maker" and his helper Johnny, pictured miles up this thread by a pp. "Oim pig and on eat mud".
I'm pleased someone else remembers Paulus the Woodgnome and that terrible witch.
I loved Murun Buchstanger

Willow2017 · 04/10/2017 21:06

Standard I mentioned that upthread yes that was Daktari.

Just watching Paulus as I couldnt picture him but knew I recognised it. Bloody Hell how were we not traumatised? What the hell were those animals supposed to be? Maybe you need a childs eyes to recognise them?

I hated Hectors House, he was creepy!

Heratnumber7 · 04/10/2017 21:09

I remember Blerp and Boister, but as a book and it was the scariest book EVER. It had a picture if a shadow behind a cave and it freaked me out. Glad I'm not the only one who remembers it.

And flashing blade, I,be tried so hard to find that on YouTube. It had Andrew O'Connor, I believe doing the dubbing. Bloody hilarious it was.

A foreign cartoon 'Boris' ? Anyone?

ticklady · 04/10/2017 21:11

Another dubbed foreign film was Golden Hair. Way back mid '70's.

Willow2017 · 04/10/2017 21:19

THe Children of the Stones, now that was scarey! Loved it, not like any other kids programme.
Can vaguely remember the Changes and that noise!

Willow2017 · 04/10/2017 21:20

Alias The Jester was a time traveller bold, he lost his magic spaceship in the earth's magnetic hold...
I get blank stares whenever I mention this one. Was it only on West County TV?
Also Flambards?
