To think my cleaner shouldn't eat all the biscuits

I've noticed that my cleaning lady is clearing me out of biscuits. She eats an entire biscuit tin whilst she's in my home. So 1-2 packets. She's never asked if it's ok or replaced anything. I've never offered them to her either.

Marmite and onion cookies sounds awesome.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 01/10/2017 21:06

We need to know what kind of biscuits.

thepurplehen · 01/10/2017 21:07

No they're not expensive and it's not the cost that bothers me, it's the bare faced cheek.

As I say, for a while I thought it was just my family but last week I was last out when she was in the house and first back and I checked the tin before I went out.

I am a cleaner and always make a coffee if the house is empty and eat 2 biscuits!! I was offered in the beginning (5 year ago) but wouldn't dream of taking the piss!!
Agree with the Bonio alternative!!

thepurplehen · 01/10/2017 21:11

I always make her a cup of tea when she arrives. I don't offer her biscuits and if I did, I'd expect her to take two or three, not one or 2 packets!

I was waiting for the poor lowly cleaner earning buttons dramatics 😬😬😬 and wasnt disappointed. Hell, good cleaners can name their price........my friend is a self employed cleaner, she charges £15 ph and could fill her books 3 times over. Compared to my sons carers earning £9 and hour and being bitten on occasion for the priviledge I don't think it's bad.

Op, she shouldnt be taking them. A few is one thing, packets at a time is just taking the fucking piss, no matter how cheap they are. I've helped out on cleaning jobs in the past and was always told to help myself to any sweets etc lying about. But of course there was an unspoken rule that we werent to take the full, bloody rub !!

Mrsmadevans · 01/10/2017 21:13

Has she got an eating disorder op? Only 2 pkts of bisks sounds a hellova lot in a couple of hours. Is she starving or poor ? I am wondering if she is very hungry when she comes because she hasn't had any food before she came . I am beginning to feel sorry for her my imagination is running riot .

ssd · 01/10/2017 21:13

shes taking them home op, no one is that greedy

thepurplehen · 01/10/2017 21:15

They're opened biscuits, not in the packet. Would someone really take loose biscuits home in their handbag?!

OP posts:
SkintAsASkintThing · 01/10/2017 21:15

And no, the op shouldnt have to hide her biscuits in her own home. What a ridiculous suggestion !!! Hell, checkout workers and carers only earn minimum wage, it doesnt mean theyre allowed to steal food to supplement their income.

PoisonousSmurf · 01/10/2017 21:16

Amazed that she has time to eat anything!

blankface · 01/10/2017 21:16

It's impossible to eat that amount of biscuits in one sitting without being ill, so she must be putting them in her bag or car.

I'd get a couple of nannycams, if she's helping herself to more than a couple of biccies, what else is she helping herself to around the house?

Andylion · 01/10/2017 21:17

I need to know how many biscuits in a packet? (I've translated this into Canadian as "box/bag of cookies" and it seems like a lot.)

Justaboy · 01/10/2017 21:18

Yes you have a duty to your employee you must be concerned for her waistline so removing or locking up the biccy's is in her best interests!

PoisonousSmurf · 01/10/2017 21:18

Get a new biscuit tin with a combination lock or even one of those funny ones that 'Oink, oink' at you when you open it Grin
Might make her think twice.

Nanny0gg · 01/10/2017 21:20

Do you never offer her a biscuit with her tea?

How long is she there for?

AtSea1979 · 01/10/2017 21:21

I would be concerned she was helping herself to more than just the biscuits.

blankface · 01/10/2017 21:22

Andy
At least 10, up to about 20 depending if they are single like Nice bics or filled like Custard Creams

thepurplehen · 01/10/2017 21:22

She arrives at 8am and leaves at 11. Her choice of timing. Personally I'm eating breakfast at 8am and don't want biscuits so I don't offer them to her or anyone else.

OP posts:
Xmasbaby11 · 01/10/2017 21:24

Honestly it wouldn't bother me if you'd left them out. It's a lot of biscuits but some people have no self control!

maggieryan · 01/10/2017 21:26

Maybe shes hungry?

MyBrilliantDisguise · 01/10/2017 21:26

Have you noticed any other food has gone missing?

Xmasbaby11 · 01/10/2017 21:27

I could eat a packet of biscuits without feeling ill especially if I'd not eaten that morning and was doing physical work.

I am greedy and overweight though, so i can't say it's normal, but several friends and my dh would be the same.

Nanny0gg · 01/10/2017 21:29

Well, whether I wanted any or not, I would offer.

MyBrilliantDisguise · 01/10/2017 21:31

But I don't think the OP would be on here starting this thread if the cleaner had a couple of biscuits. It's a couple of packets that's taking advantage.
