This is a very prescient thread on trump’s behaviour/psychology from a year ago:

The thread about Trump's narcissistic personality is utterly chilling.
I think I remember previously reading somewhere that if he were to be officially diagnosed as a Malignant Narcissist it would be a serious enough condition to push for 25th Amendment. (But that might just have been a dream...)

lionheart · 01/10/2017 19:21

No, not yet.

Not ever. Whenever power is abused there is always resistance.

Time for some poetry.

Thanks for the poetry lion, it’s strangely soothing.

What in the world is to be gained by a DDoS attack on the NK spy agency?! Serious question, Julia. Any idea what they're thinking?

I don't know how much thinking goes into any of this, that's the problem

www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/world/national-security/trump-signed-presidential-directive-ordering-actions-to-pressure-north-korea/2017/09/30/97c6722a-a620-11e7-b14f-f41773cd5a14_story.html

Early in his administration, President Trump signed a directive outlining a strategy of pressure against North Korea that involved actions across a broad spectrum of government agencies and led to the use of military cyber-capabilities, according to U.S. officials.

As part of the campaign, U.S. Cyber Command targeted hackers in North Korea's military spy agency, the Reconnaissance General Bureau, by barraging their computer servers with traffic that choked off Internet access.

Trump's directive, a senior administration official said, also included instructions to diplomats and officials to bring up North Korea in virtually every conversation with foreign interlocutors and urge them to sever all ties with Pyongyang. Those conversations have had significant success, particularly in recent weeks as North Korea has tested another nuclear weapon and ballistic missiles, officials said.

So pervasive is the diplomatic campaign that some governments have found themselves scrambling to find any ties with North Korea. When Vice President Pence called on one country to break relations during a recent overseas visit, officials there reminded him that they never had relations with Pyongyang. Pence then told them, to their own surprise, that they had $2 million in trade with North Korea. Foreign officials, who asked that their country not be identified, described the exchange.

Number 11 from that list is a cruncher.

Today is also the deadline for the admin to produce regulations to ID anyone helping Russian intelligence.

Here's the requirement for Trump to produce guidance on IDing Russian agents by today. There's still no guidance.

BTW, for anyone who doesn't remember the title song - or never did work out the lyrics. Strangely reminiscent of someone's Tweet style...

Abraham M. Denmark @AbeDenmark
Just returned from Seoul & Tokyo. Here are some observations, which are especially relevant today.

Trump undercuts Tillerson's efforts on North Korea

The president inserts himself emphatically into Tillerson's diplomatic efforts.

www.politico.com/story/2017/10/01/trump-tillerson-korea-twitter-243339

Both Japan and South Korea are nervous about US handling of the NK issue. Not identical positions, but some similarities. 2/
Tokyo v. nervous about NK. @AbeShinzo justified calling a snap election as necessary to handle the NK crisis. 3/

Japan's Abe announces snap election amid worries over North Korea

mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKCN1C0001

Seoul also concerned about NK, but they’re more used to it. Also, I found ROKs generally reassured about US extended deterrence. 4/
I heard in Tokyo & Seoul that they are very concerned about US strategy in general, and (more so in Seoul) about POTUS in particular. 5/
People in Seoul & Tokyo echoed similar points: diplomacy necessary, and they fear POTUS is only interested in threats and conflict. 7/
They genuinely fear that the US may start a war, intentionally or otherwise. POTUS’s tweets will likely reinforce this concern. 8/

POTUS's tweets will likely be interpreted as dismissive of diplomacy, and indicative that he prefers conflict. 9/
As I’ve said before, POTUS’s rhetoric changes the context of US military demonstrations and raises the potential for miscalculation. 10/

With @Gipper_76 deploying to the area in a few weeks, danger of an incident is escalating. 11/11

Trump Is Less Hawkish Than Hillary. Who Cares?
Clinton’s instincts might be overly aggressive. Trump’s are an incoherent catastrophe.
