It is really shocking that the third leading cause of children’s deaths in America is guns and that still nothing is being done about it. This is the same party blocking gun reform that allowed funding for CHIP to expire last week so 9 million children have no healthcare so I suppose it shouldn’t come as a surprise.

GOP don't care about Medical organizations regarding health care, why would they pay any attention to them regarding weapons?

I expect to hear, hourly, of the NRA militating for every American’s right to own surface to air missiles to enable them to bring down prey with minimal inconvenience to themselves.

Apparently, they are not allowed nuclear weapons, but every American has the right to arm themselves as they please.

Doesn't the second amendment only concern the right of state militia to bear arms anyway? I'm sure I'm missing something but if that's the case, why do people keep citing it as proof that everyone has to be able to carry guns whenever they choose to?

lweji it's similar to Brexiteers being outraged that the EU hasn't stepped in to physically intervene in the Catalonia referendum. The Spanish government's actions were utterly abhorrent but it's a special type of twisted logic to hate the EU for not immediately stopping the Spanish government but also hate the EU because duh, sovereignty.

It is a much debated point but I believe the Second Amendment means what you want it to mean.
