To think that he fancies me, and to tell him to BACK OFF

I'm a bit embarrassed about this, but I can't talk to anyone else about it.

I'm mentoring a student (he's about 25 and gorgeous). We have had a few meetings in Pret and we both enjoy wholesome, vegan food. So far, so normal (and dreamy)...

Anyway, earlier today we both chose the same sandwich... only there was only one left! Sad My mentee(?) looked me in the eye and said "well, I might be lucky next time" Blush I honestly didn't know where to look!!

I'm supposed to be meeting him and his tutor next month. I don't know what to do?!

Maybe he wants a fish finger sandwich.

Sorry, the sandwich is avocado, olive and tomato.

I think you could choose most things in Pret and have a good time with them.

Unless it were professionally unethical that is?

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 29/09/2017 22:16

I'm hoping this is the card/halloween party troll again, surely nobody is this nuts?!

OP, he has shown no inappropriate behaviour! There is zero suggestion of him fancying you but plenty to suggest you do! You have nothing to report him for, either get over yourself or admit that you're reading into things due to your own desirea

ElizabethDarcey · 29/09/2017 22:18

I totally get it OP. You need to tell him to back off immediately before this gets out of hand. I also advise you to ring 101 and log this.

PricklyBall · 29/09/2017 22:19

You 'n me both, nauticant.

I presume it is some sort of reference to popular culture m'lord (plotline in Hollyoaks/East Enders/a minor and little known John Steinbeck novel) which I am failing to pick up on.

Either that or OP is a perve. (Hint from a menopausal old gimmer - by all means look, but do not, whatever you do, look in such a way that the lookee would notice you looking - because that would just be deeply upsetting for them. No one wants to be perved on by someone where you can't tell whether they're flushed with excitement, or just having a flush).

stopbeingadramallama · 29/09/2017 22:19

@ElizabethDarcey this is too serious for 101. 999 it is!

GriefLeavesItsMark · 29/09/2017 22:19

No good for me then, I'm massive intolerant to avocado.

AnathemaPulsifer · 29/09/2017 22:20

Inappropriate behaviour? WTF? He met your eyes in Pret and let you have the last sandwich (respecting his elders) and you're going to report him? Let us know when, we'll listen out for the chortles.

SirGawain · 29/09/2017 22:22

I do need to tell his placement officer about his inappropriate behaviour however.

Poor guy! In what way was his behavior inappropriate?

ByGaslight · 29/09/2017 22:27

Some of my students have social media accounts set up on a 'gig' basis for companies wanting publicity. They post various stuff to solicit discussion which 'cunningly' centres almost accidentally round a product that wants pushing.

Just strolling by ...

Gemini69 · 29/09/2017 22:27

you want to punish him for NOT fancying you OP....

MotherMucca · 29/09/2017 22:28

ElizabethDarcey

Bit much,?! he hasn't actually done anything (yet)!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
KrytensNanobots · 29/09/2017 22:32

Peeps, this isn't serious.

Can't believe people are answering this in earnest

Oh, is it one of those oh so hilaire in jokes that everybody is supposed to know and have a laugh at? Confused Hmm
OP sounds batshit, and like she's the one who needs to back off.
Wants to tell him to back off, but she wants to swoon and that he's gorgeous?
Doesn't even make any sense.

LunchBoxPolice · 29/09/2017 22:33

The most inappropriate thing so far is olives in a sandwich.

FakePlasticTeaLeaves · 29/09/2017 22:33

If anything this has put me off Pret. They don't seem to have enough in stock.

KrytensNanobots · 29/09/2017 22:35

Oh Gad, please not the tedious CZ poster who actually turned out to be a teen which I found a bit sad actually - fancy trolling for laughs, must be a very lonely/sad existence.

picklemepopcorn · 29/09/2017 22:36

Just step away from the keyboard, and no one needs to get hurt.

CraftyPenguin · 29/09/2017 22:44

You sound deluded.

MotherMucca · 29/09/2017 22:45

KrytensNanobots what's a CZ poster?

OP posts:
WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 29/09/2017 22:47

He isn't the one being inappropriate here, you are.

You need to stop having lunches with him until you can control yourself.

ElizabethDarcey · 29/09/2017 22:51

Bit much,?! he hasn't actually done anything (yet)!!!!!!!!!!

Fair enough, go ahead and wait until he's lusting at you over the last cauliflower chickpea fritter, if you really care so little about the inevitable consequences to his filthy sandwich lust today.

MotherMucca · 29/09/2017 22:52

Oh go away, WhatToDoAboutThis2017 et al. No-one asked you.

OP posts:
ThomasHardyPerennial · 29/09/2017 22:53

You have just said he hasn't done anything...what exactly do you need to report? Except maybe your own ridiculous behaviour.
