To think that he fancies me, and to tell him to BACK OFF

I'm a bit embarrassed about this, but I can't talk to anyone else about it.

I'm mentoring a student (he's about 25 and gorgeous). We have had a few meetings in Pret and we both enjoy wholesome, vegan food. So far, so normal (and dreamy)...

Anyway, earlier today we both chose the same sandwich... only there was only one left! Sad My mentee(?) looked me in the eye and said "well, I might be lucky next time" Blush I honestly didn't know where to look!!

I'm supposed to be meeting him and his tutor next month. I don't know what to do?!

So if it actually was a come on, why do you want him to back off? You said he was gorgeous and makes you swoon

PatriciaHolm · 29/09/2017 21:45

Next time, tear the sandwich in half with your teeth suggestively and offer him some. If he runs screaming, you know you've misread the signals.

InsomniacAnonymous · 29/09/2017 21:45

MotherMucca well, for a fleeting moment I thought you might see the situation for what it was, but you're clearly too far gone for that.

Go ahead then. Tell him to back off.

Gemini69 · 29/09/2017 21:45

you Thread Title contradicts... your original Post ... Flowers

bimbobaggins · 29/09/2017 21:46

i get what you mean op, some of the comments are a bit ott!

redsquirrel2 · 29/09/2017 21:48

You should have asked him if he wanted a nibble and then assessed his reaction Grin

GertiesEyebrow · 29/09/2017 21:50

You felt he was being flirtatious.
I don't think you need to tell him to back off, he's not really done anything?
It seems you might be getting a bit flustered around him though so if I were you, I'd concentrate on how I was coming accross and the messages I was giving.
But then again, I never know whats going on around here.

Sugarformyhoney · 29/09/2017 21:54

He just wanted the fucking sandwich.
How embarrassing

Ceebs85 · 29/09/2017 21:57

You can't tell him to back off after that. You would look insane.

Also you've described your pret meetings as dreamy so you clearly fancy him. Why would you need to tell him to back off even if he did fancy you?

FakePlasticTeaLeaves · 29/09/2017 21:58

Was it Super Reds & Greens? Because that really IS a good sandwich.

MotherMucca · 29/09/2017 21:59

I can still feel his eyes on me

I doubt he'd recognise himself here though.

I do need to tell his placement officer about his inappropriate behaviour however.

Poor guy just wanted a sandwich.

Instead he ends up with you thinking he fancies you. Awkward.

Please tell him you use this website, and then tell him to back off. I'd love to see his response. Blush

EdmundCleverClogs · 29/09/2017 22:00

He just wanted the fucking sandwich. How embarrassing

Came to say pretty much the same thing. Though finding it difficult to believe people actually behave and speak like the OP, that's cringy in itself. It's quite obvious who needs to 'back off' here.

deadringer · 29/09/2017 22:03

Yes very inappropriate Confused

lostfrequencies · 29/09/2017 22:04

You need to tell the placement officer about his inappropriate behaviour? Huh? I figured the post was light hearted but this has thrown me.

pigeondujour · 29/09/2017 22:04

Can't believe people are answering this in earnest Grin

Ducknose · 29/09/2017 22:04

You're on the wind up 😂
What constitutes his 'inappropriate' behaviour? And why are you trying to inadvertently not! direct him to this thread. You're acting unethically and could get yourself into serious trouble.

FakePlasticTeaLeaves · 29/09/2017 22:05

Can I please just know the sandwich? Two out of two people select it in store, so it sounds quite popular.

TheDowagerCuntess · 29/09/2017 22:06

Peeps, this isn't serious.

poppym12 · 29/09/2017 22:07

I fancy one of those super rainbow flat breads now.

EdmundCleverClogs · 29/09/2017 22:08

It does read like the start of a terrible romance novel, to be fair!

BulletFox · 29/09/2017 22:09

It's vegan georgette heyer :)

GertiesEyebrow · 29/09/2017 22:11

Ah. Ok. Now I get it.
On a side note, I've never had a Pret sandwich. What do people recommend? Prefer veggie but open to non-veggie.

MotherMucca · 29/09/2017 22:12

TheDowager and you know this how...?

OP posts:
nauticant · 29/09/2017 22:13

Hmm, either this is a thread where the OP is being a bit creepy or there's some clever subtext I'm failing to get.
