6 bags spicy McCoy's and an entire bag of heat burst Dortitos. Bought at 330, just finished the last one :-/ literally all to myself.

If it makes a difference either way, I had intended the McCoy's for DH's lunch tomorrow, he can take an apple instead ee have plenty of those sitting uneaten in the fruit bowl! Bloody pregnancy spice cravings. I'm meant to be watching my weight too...

That's pretty impressive I must say Grin

Have you considered a chilli sauce and dipping cucumbers into it if it's spice you're after? Or googling spicy dip recipes?

Have to say that probably wouldn't work for me, I'd just dip the crisps!

Loopytiles · 27/09/2017 16:16

Yabu: been there, done that! (Had a binge eating problem).

Bingeing caused me physical pain during pregnancy / post labour, raised blood sugar, and meant unecessary weight gain.

I'm full of cheer eh!

namechanger2735 · 27/09/2017 16:17

You don't eat like that every day do you? If not as you still eat healthily the majority of the time then stuff your face with crisps when you feel like it!

FrogFairy · 27/09/2017 16:19

I hope you enjoyed them, you will be singing the Johnny Cash song tomorrow...

Kipi · 27/09/2017 16:25

It's not going to do you any harm as a one off, but be careful of making a habit of it!
Yesterday, all my daytime eating was chocolate. Not sorry. Not one bit.

slbhill42 · 27/09/2017 16:25

on occasion I've eatn that many in a day while not pregnant. I shouldn't worry too much as long as you're not doing it regularly Grin

SunnySkiesSleepsintheMorning · 27/09/2017 16:26

Eating what you fancy while pregnant is never unreasonable as long as you don't do it often.

OhtoblazeswithElvira · 27/09/2017 16:26

FrogFairy Grin
And it burns, burns, burns...

PhelanGood · 27/09/2017 16:27

I love you all! Impressive is not a word I was expecting!

I always buy myself two or three packs of crisps after the school run, it's become something of a habit to reward me for all the exercise involved during the ten minute walk home. Can usually stop at three though, but these flavours are new to the shop and were so damn moreish. I like the idea of the cucumbers and salsa. Have taken to ordering a pizza and pouring three mini bottles of chilli oil over it. Had a zinger burger the other day and almost cried as they just don't taste spicy to me any more! Has anyone else felt the urge to burn their tongue raw while expecting?

The best thing is when you have something really spicy then a cup of hot tea afterwards, it sends my senses into raptures!

Forget the Johnny Cash tomorrow, the heartburn will get you first! I miss chilli.

TheVoiceOfTreason · 27/09/2017 16:28

Thank you, this is my favourite thread of the day. 😍

ps if it is any consolation, my midwife told me "you'll listen to your body, when I was pregnant I had a whole week where I wanted to eat nothing but fruit pastilles. So long as your cravings are not for non-food items, you're fine". She went on to tell me that a surprising amount of people crave non-food items, like sponges. And clay. Clay!!! 😳 So yeah, crisp-gate, when looked at in the context of people who actually eat clay, doesn't sound that unreasonable to me....

Loopytiles · 27/09/2017 16:30

This isn't cravings IMO it's eating habits.

AnyFarrahFowler · 27/09/2017 16:33

I'm also really enjoying lots and lots of spice this pregnancy - but also getting horrendous heartburn. So everyday I have to weigh up what I want to eat versus is it worth the searing pain afterwards. I should own shares in Gaviscon because I always decide it's worth it. It rarely is Sad

WishfulThanking · 27/09/2017 16:34

That doesn't sound great OP. It wouldn't even occur to me to eat more than one pack of crisps at a time, and you're eating several every day!

Iwantamarshmallow · 27/09/2017 16:34

Thank you op . Im 14 weeks and can't seem to stop eating. I feel much better now I know im not the only one .. im very much in love with pork scratchings at the moment.

PhelanGood · 27/09/2017 16:35

@thevoiceoftreason that is a great consolation! My crisps thing is definitely a craving - I'm prone to low blood pressure when pregnant and need the salt and there exist no sources of salt other than crisps, pizza and kfc
The binge thing... That's a habit. I cannot for the life of me understand how people can have crisps and chocolate in the house and not eat them within the day!

OP posts:
mids · 27/09/2017 16:36

Sorry OP! That's a lot! You really shouldn't be eating that many crisps!

strawberrygate · 27/09/2017 16:37

I don't understand why this is "impressive" OP says she's meant to watching her weight, there's a massive problem with obesity in the country, yet this is impressive??

redsquirrel2 · 27/09/2017 16:39

That's quite an achievement. Be careful though, it's depressing when your baby comes along if you've gained a lot of weight and end up feeling bad about yourself.

PhelanGood · 27/09/2017 16:39

@iwantamarshmallow I'll see your pork scratchings and raise you beef jerky.. We should all take out shares in gaviscon :(

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 27/09/2017 16:43

You know you're going to have a crap ton of 'baby weight' to lose if you keep binge eating like this.

So yes, you probably are being unreasonable.

brownfang · 27/09/2017 16:44

I used to eat like that when I was a nipper, but now age 50+ I can barely manage one bag. Serious salt overdose. Salt was one of the things I most went off in pregnancy.

PhelanGood · 27/09/2017 16:45

@redsquirrel2 yes the amount has depressed me you're right! Worst thing is, I'm still a bit hungry...
Am not obese though, just around a stone overweight. I do on average 15000 steps on my fitbit every day. Still though - crisps are devoid of nutrition. It's so heartening to hear others exist on crap some days too, I feel like a total freak!

OP posts:
Hayesking · 27/09/2017 16:45

I don't want to be miserable but a one of binge of 6 packets is ok, but 2 or 3,packets a day to 'reward' yourself for a 10 minute walk is not great tbh.

PhelanGood · 27/09/2017 16:47

@Worraliberty true - I have a holiday in July I want to look good for too. Cutting them out completely is the only answer though cos I can't don't do moderation where potato snacks are concerned!
