Have you read a thread that has really stayed with you?

I always think of the foster mum, who sadly passed away. She was looking after lovely ladybird (I think that is what she called her) and her posts made me laugh and pulled at my heartstrings. I did feel utterly heartbroken when I read she had passed on and she truly has inspired me to go into foster caring in later years.

I think about the poster who was pregnant and found out about her DP having an affair, after he was in hospital because of a car crash. I wonder how she is getting on and hope she is doing well.

Whenever I think about the poster who accidentally took the case of prosecco (was it prosecco?!) and the following Christmas, she was given a single bottle only, I really chuckle.

OP posts:

Mine are two posters who I know (from threads) live near me. I've "decided" who they are IRL and wonder if I'm right.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 27/09/2017 10:46

Cod was still around on S&B not so long ago.

SunnySkiesSleepsintheMorning · 27/09/2017 10:47

Anyone heard from NavyandWhite? She just disappeared....or likely name changed.

SuburbanCrofter · 27/09/2017 10:50

A lovely lady called IAmGrowingAnAwesomeTree, who was suffering from PTSD. I often think of her and wonder if she is OK now.

LaughingElliot · 27/09/2017 10:54

The only one I think about is a young woman who was trying desperately to escape her abusive partner. She upped stocks to a hotel and he tracked her down and dragged her back, beat her so badly she was hospitalised.
She suffered a breakdown and eventually killed herself. It was so sad.

redexpat · 27/09/2017 10:56

DaughterDrowningInJunk her DM just kept giving her stuff and she was supposed to be grateful because she was a LP. But the house was filled and then DM criticised her housekeeping. She tried to clear stuff out but kept getting banned from the tip. It was basically a form of control.

Pithivier · 27/09/2017 10:57

There used to be a lady who was a prolific poster on the Gardening thread. She gave such good advice and came accross as such a
Lovely lady. She just disappeared suddenly. I think of her all the time.

Shittyshopping · 27/09/2017 10:58

usually think everyone is a troll!) I felt sorry for her. People were so nasty to her. I hoped she was a troll.

@ZenHeadbutt and others I'm still about but name change so much that I forget my own user name Blush anyway thank you for asking about me. Still around anyway. :)

Sooooooooooooooooooooo · 27/09/2017 10:58

The lady who was eating from the food caddy and could only feed her DD, and then for some reason married her DH. Was she real? I wonder what happened and if she got away.

Also the lady who discovered her DH was having an affair and it didn't seem to matter what he promised such as not contacting the OW, she would find out that he had but would still never leave, it was just so sad.

He continually crossed the line and yet she always made excuses. I can't remember what her name was, but I always wondered what on earth he had to do and how much more badly he would behave in order for her to leave.

Shittyshopping · 27/09/2017 10:59

Oops sorry meant to say it's ghostspirit here

mrsRosaPimento · 27/09/2017 11:02

The op who found a huge amount of money in a bag at the bottom of her garden.
The op who was trapped in a marriage to a man who was cheating on her and lived abroad and wasn't sure if she'd get custody of her dcs.
Zombie.SadFlowers
The op with the haunted office. It was the one in a barn and she posted a video of the door opening on it's own or stones being thrown at the door. I can't quite remember. Then she got outed and the thread was removed. I wonder if the new tenents were haunted or if the ghost went with her.

Gruach · 27/09/2017 11:04

So often ...

Mrsfrumble · 27/09/2017 11:09

Aaah, this thread is like a trip down memory lane! So many familiar names and stories!

I loved Bupcakes soooo much! I think of her whenever I see lemon drizzle cake or hear the theme tune to Bananas in Pyjamas. She got banned didn't she?

Xenia is easy to spot despite all the name changes.

Does anyone else remember the poster with the really dirty kitchen? Her husband was disabled and she had mental health issues and just couldn't face it, so a couple of mnetters went round to her place with rubber gloves and bleach and sorted it for her (with live updates). MN at it's very best.

Are BertieBotts and Statters still around?

Mrsfrumble · 27/09/2017 11:10

StRatters, I mean.

QuimReaper · 27/09/2017 12:14

redexpat I still think of her too! It was one of those threads that was a real eye-opener: to be honest I found it incredibly frustrating that she didn't just get rid of the sodding wardrobe that meant she couldn't get into her own bedroom, chuck all the junk in a skip, and simply refuse to accept any more unsolicited crap. I wanted to go over and shake her. But she was simply unable to do those things, and as I am lucky enough to have never been subjected to that kind of abuse, I could never understand it. I think about that a lot. It goes to show how insidious these things can be.

If you're reading Daughter, I hope you've managed to make some headway - you were doing really well getting rid of things at your own manageable pace. And if you ever want to take us up on the offer of a MN lynchmob to come over and blitz the rest I'll be first in line Grin

LidlAngel · 27/09/2017 12:18

Marmalade Twatkins used to make me cry laughing. I think she fell out with MNHQ?

Joeymaynardslimegreendress · 27/09/2017 12:56

I thunj about the lady who was pregnant with a baby who had catastrophic brain damage but was denied an abortion in Ireland. Heart breaking

Mrsfrumble · 27/09/2017 12:57

I think Bupcakes and Marmalde Twatkins were the same person. I miss her Sad

villainousbroodmare · 27/09/2017 13:06

What was the story with Surrey Times?

A poster who was trying to escape from a really abusive man, he raped her at one point in the thread and tried to go to the doctor with her to pass it off as a bit too rough sex. She had no family support and no power. It was awful. I so hope she's in a better place but he was determined to hold onto her and the children.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 27/09/2017 13:23

What's the story with SurreyTimes - I followed his threads but must have missed some big revelation.

rainbowstardrops · 27/09/2017 13:31

I think about the lady whose husband committed suicide by driving his van into the sea. So sad.

Also, Oddsocks. I wonder how she's doing?

SunSeaAndSangria · 27/09/2017 13:31

I think often of @Zombie and CTK Sad

Mrsfrumble · 27/09/2017 13:33

Dixie whaaaat?!? I totally missed that one! What happened?
