Have you read a thread that has really stayed with you?

I always think of the foster mum, who sadly passed away. She was looking after lovely ladybird (I think that is what she called her) and her posts made me laugh and pulled at my heartstrings. I did feel utterly heartbroken when I read she had passed on and she truly has inspired me to go into foster caring in later years.

I think about the poster who was pregnant and found out about her DP having an affair, after he was in hospital because of a car crash. I wonder how she is getting on and hope she is doing well.

Whenever I think about the poster who accidentally took the case of prosecco (was it prosecco?!) and the following Christmas, she was given a single bottle only, I really chuckle.

No names but there was a much loved poster here who I knew quite well in real life. She treated me so very harshly that whenever I see posts venerating her I remember. I remember the person she seemed to be and the person she became.

Footle · 27/09/2017 08:40

Goodness , greylady, that's very restrained of you!

twinkledag · 27/09/2017 08:45

Surreytimes - I wonder what happened in real life when his wife's family found out!

Nocapes and the gardener.

But the one I thought of instantly was cupoftea and Beatrice Sad

Pancakeflipper · 27/09/2017 08:47

I frequently think about the mother whose very young daughter suffered severe burns at a family BBQ and the impact the life changing injuries had on their family and her other children.
I really hope things are going great for her and her tribe. They faced some real tough battles. She wrote really honest posts that I found very touching about facing battle and worries.

I also think about TDWP - I hope she's happy

And I miss Fluffydressingown - I hope her partner is doing ok.

Opheliasgoldenwine · 27/09/2017 08:50

Not as serious as the other ones but the threads I think about sometimes are:

The phantom pisstaker- wonder what happened or if it was just a wind up.

The Dawn Doctor.

His small shirt.

Wasp & wine.

RunningOutOfCharge · 27/09/2017 08:51

I thought that TDWP was outed as being one of those.

dantdmistedious · 27/09/2017 08:53

Ghostspirit. Only because the posts were so prolific for a while.

StealthPolarBear · 27/09/2017 08:57

Nickel babe giraffe, yes! I wonder how she's doing

Dapplegrey2 · 27/09/2017 08:57

What happened to theincrediblesteamingnit?
I wouldn't have wanted to get on the wrong side of her!

ssd · 27/09/2017 08:57

scottishmummy

wish she'd come back, place is much duller without her

foxychox · 27/09/2017 08:58

There was a post a few months ago from a lady who was asking how many clothes people had as she felt she didn't have many - literally she had a pair of leggings, a couple of tops and some flip flops. Maybe she''d had to up sticks in a hurry.
Lots of lovely MN'ers were asking where she was so they could drop some stuff to her. Every time I look at my bursting to the seams with crap wardrobe I think of her and hope she did get some help, with the clothes and anything else she needed.

cluelesscinders · 27/09/2017 09:09

Secret Polish daughter

Bike -obsessed Dad and the cycling holiday :(

SongforSal · 27/09/2017 09:11

Foxy I remember her to. I think people were offering to send her things weren't they and she refused?!

BaconAndBees · 27/09/2017 09:13

Boiler woman and her business husband . That was really sad.

LaLaLady2 · 27/09/2017 09:16

Noscapes and the gardener. Like a Mills and Boon initially, so tense, so full on, many, many updates...then nothing. Do wonder what happened!

Mrsknackered · 27/09/2017 09:20

No capes had a thread recently on baby names. Can't wait to see what her and gardener decide on! #overinvested

GlitteryFluff · 27/09/2017 09:20

Nocapes is having a baby with gardener I believe.

AnnaFiveTowns · 27/09/2017 09:20

Lilymaid. She gave me lots of helpful advice when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. She gave everyone lots of good advice. She seemed very calm, warm and wise. Even in the face of her own diagnosis, she gave hope and positivity to others. I miss her.

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 27/09/2017 09:22

I haven't been here long enough tbh, but Bibbetybobbityhat - purely because I loved her username. Also CTK, because it was so very sad. I don't always remember usernames, but the posts that stayed with me are Surreytimes' one, and the poor woman that fled from her EA arse of a DP, and went to South Africa. Also, wageslave - was very helpful to me on a health board - I hope she is ok

Lancelottie · 27/09/2017 09:24

I tend to assume that anyone with an unusually memorable story was a troll, these days.

Dawndonnaagain · 27/09/2017 09:25

Flowers The Grey Lady.
I remember.

iseenodust · 27/09/2017 09:26

The lady who lived in France and had chemistry with the younger car mechanic.

drinkswineoutofamug · 27/09/2017 09:28

There was a lady who had an abusive controlling husband. They had children. She was given some lovely advice on how to get away. Her brother or brother in law came on a secret mission and rescued her and the children when the husband was at work (?)
Always wondered how she got on.

No capes - wow, great news. I had thought the relationship had ended as quickly as it started, imagined she had uncovered something unsavoury....how wrong was I. Thanks for the updates.
