Maybe it's just me, but I'll kick off with:
Booby monster (or any kind of 'monster')
Figetbum (not seen this often, but it is so horrific I can't forget it)
Snuggly cuddles (see also milky cuddles, and sleepy cuddles or snuggles)
Newborn, used as a noun, not an adjective - as in my newborn, not my newborn baby.
I'm sure I will think of some more!

Put your big girl pants on

poddige · 25/09/2017 06:53

'You lovely vipers' or words to that effect.

'Booby monster'

'Boob to sleep'

RainbowPastel · 25/09/2017 06:55

Gah!

I have never ever in all my 40 years heard someone say it in real life but see it on here all the time.

Callamia · 25/09/2017 06:56

'Cue'

So this happened, cue me getting irrationally furious.

Do people talk like this too?

mistermagpie · 25/09/2017 07:03

I live in Glasgow and people say ‘boak’ all the time in real life! I would say I hear it from different people at least a few times a week. Might be regional but it’s definitely not just a East Coast thing. I’m late 30s, maybe it’s a generation thing?

On mn it’s the vulva thing, I know it’s the proper term but have never heard anyone call it that in real life. Even my GP calls it vagina.

poddige · 25/09/2017 07:05

BFP

Peachyking000 · 25/09/2017 07:09

You knew what you were getting into (standard response to any posts about step parenting)

CourtneyLoveIsMySpiritAnimal · 25/09/2017 07:11

He's telling you who he is. Listen

Yes, that gets thrown around loads on social media.

Others that aren’t particular to MN, but get used a lot on here that wind me up are not my circus, not my monkeys especially when used in the wrong context.

Also finding yourself on the wrong side of history was used a lot after Brexit and the General Election.

Katedotness1963 · 25/09/2017 07:13

Haven't read the full thread but...

Followed by the most obvious advice. Advice that's been given every three posts for 17 pages.

SwissChristmasMuseum · 25/09/2017 07:13

"My anxiety"

StarHeartDiamond · 25/09/2017 07:24

"Shameless place marking" place mark if you want, nothing shameful or not shameful about it.

"Reporting" - as a single word statement. Very head-girl.

"Un-mumsnetty hugs" Just offer a verbal hug if that's what you want to do, no need for the implied apology.

StarHeartDiamond · 25/09/2017 07:27

Oh and "my dcs friend, who I have known for 10 years since being a baby and is perfectly NT was rude to me." Answer "Maybe he has a disability". Um no, he doesn't. He was just being rude.

DurhamDurham · 25/09/2017 07:28

Gah

JassyRadlett · 25/09/2017 07:29

'It's not big and not clever'

DanHumphreyIsA · 25/09/2017 07:29

'Its a parking one'

FakePlasticTeaLeaves · 25/09/2017 07:51

firefries I can't tell if that's a saying that you dislike, or your opinion on this thread Grin

lottieandmia · 25/09/2017 07:58

The one that annoys me the most not just on MN is obvs

FakePlasticTeaLeaves · 25/09/2017 08:00

People who align themselves with the OP before predicting/suspecting the rest of us will soon bound along like an uneducated, idiotic mob:

'I think you were right OP, be I predict everyone else will come along now and tell you it's your fault and you should be feeling grateful'

You're so clever!

lottieandmia · 25/09/2017 08:01

For those of you who think DTD is bad wrt sex, I remember when I joined MN people used an acronym BD which means 'baby dancing'

lottieandmia · 25/09/2017 08:01

Meh annoys me too

Sparklingbrook · 25/09/2017 08:03

I think we need a thread with phrases that are permissible because I think every single thing ever said on MN has been mentioned now. [grin[

PerfumeIsAMessage · 25/09/2017 08:05

"I think the OP is getting a hard time here"

Yep. Because she's being a goady twat.

Likewise the posters who tell everyone who have spotted the OP is being a GT what the OP is saying, or thinking, or what really happened in the (usually about a "sensitive" child being "bullied" by a "vile" teacher) the case in question. That just makes me file them away as sock puppets though, so can be quite useful. This type of poster invariably uses the words "pile in" and "regulars" with the sneery tone as if someone had just thrown up on her new shoes.

Primamadonna · 25/09/2017 08:06

People who write 'lol' at the end of a sentence with no punctuation. Its rarely a lol anyway & I hate lollers.

Sparklingbrook · 25/09/2017 08:08

Spot on Perfume. You never get 'OP is getting a hard time here' unless the OP has posted something particularly goady or in some way a bit WTF.

DanHumphreyIsA · 25/09/2017 08:10

@lottieandmia 😂😂😂😂😂

I find it so strange that posters get told off for not using 'vulva' but it seems that writing 'sex' on a thread is taboo.
