I'll start; we do not wear shoes in our house, that means they get taken off at the door, none of this "can I just pop to the toilet?" Business, no bloody take them off!!
Please do not let drop horrendous gut farts in the bloody hallway so that every time I move from one room to the other I want to vomit.
And please stop touching stuff when you haven't washed your hands!!
Please note I am OCD diagnosed.
Oh, and talking to me when I am in another room to you, I cannot hear you!
I wish people would respect the way that our home is, if you don't like it then don't come over.

Breathe.

Peachyking000 · 20/09/2017 14:56

My DH half-heatedly washing cups/mugs/cutlery in the sink instead of using the dishwasher. It means it takes longer to fill it up, or running it half empty, then having the job of emptying it and also drying/putting away stuff from the draining board.

EternalOptimistToo · 20/09/2017 15:02

Wow, it seems that there is a lot off places where I wouodnt feel welcomed tbh....

TimeIhadaNameChange · 20/09/2017 15:05

Starting a conversation with me when it's obvious I'm trying to do something.

Trying to force me to go somewhere when I was aiming for the other direction. I'm not being polite, I'm actually waiting for you to move out the way and go to where you're going so I can get past you. Trying to insist I go elsewhere is not helpful.

theymademejoin · 20/09/2017 15:12

People taking their shoes off in my house. I don't want your sweaty, smelly socks or worse still, potentially verucca'd or athlete foot ridden bare feet, traipsed through my house. And I most definitely don't want them tucked up under you on my couch.

Disclaimer - shoes off is ok for family and people I know very well. It is a level of intimacy I do not want with people I know less well.

CantChoose · 20/09/2017 15:14

Me too eternal!
Someone doesn't want people to put their hands on the sofa?! Really???

TinyTear · 20/09/2017 15:15

Ah yes, reading post, letters, the calendar, things left out, even if they are in a neat pile somewhere! ahhhrgh! that's you sister!

only offering to do the washing up once my hands are wet and Im already doing it. , that's you sister again

coming for a weekend, eating three meals a day plus snacks and not offering to cook once, and if I pull her up on this she will say she offered pizza express vouchers - to which i would have paid for 4 people to her only 1... and breathe, yes, sister again

YouCantArgueWithStupid · 20/09/2017 15:28

People turning up at my house in general pisses me off 😂

DeadDoorpost · 20/09/2017 15:32

@IlPorcupinoNilSodomyEst

It doesn't necessarily save time as I do like to sit under the water a lot, especially if I've been at the beach or am ill etc but I'll shampoo my hair first and leave it in while I wash myself then rinse it all off (have to use a shower scrunchie btw DH uses a flannel and it irks me) and then I'll wash/scrub my face and if I can be bothered I'll condition my hair but don't seem to need to atm with the pregnancy.
DH just washes however he feels and just watching him do his hair drives me mad.

TooGood2BeFalse · 20/09/2017 15:40

Crunchymum something similar..I am really NOT precious about my kids..but I hate it when people MIL talk over DS1 when he has already started speaking to me.He is on the spectrum so communication is a really big deal here and hugely encouraged. I wouldn't let him interrupt a conversation, so it annoys me when an adult talks over him in his own house

Genius!!!

It's not that we are being unwelcoming but don't just show up when we're not expecting you.especially at tea time! ( rare, admittably)

Neighbour pops over for ten minutes when she KNOWS I'm cooking the tea! ( again rare but she still does it!) Never says ' are you free for a minute)
Brother leaves Bathroom door open when we always keep it closed and its closed when he uses it..we have a cat and don't want him climbing on the shelf etc! Just so lazy some people!

Some of these posts are spot on though!

CbeebiesAddict · 20/09/2017 15:56

ILs take their shoes off but leave them in the front room where they get in the way. DH has asked them to leave them in the hallway several times but to no avail. It gives me the rage.

paap1975 · 20/09/2017 16:01

My dad plays with crumbs at the dinner table then flicks them onto the floor, so the carpet is full of them when he leaves. Also, people rub their feet up and down on one of our carpets/rugs, making it shed

Minniemarshmallows · 20/09/2017 16:10

paap
Exactly! They just don't have respect some people in other people's houses.
We have a rug but it is away from their feet when they sit down.
And ' flicking' crumbs on the floor!!!! That's just downright rude!

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 20/09/2017 16:17

DPs best mate comes to ours every Friday to cook his (massive amount) of chicken for his lunches the following week. This is fine, he rents and his oven is gross plus he gets here about 4pm and DP doesn't til 8ish and so I enjoy the company.
THEN HE LEAVES AROUND 11pm ( also fine) WITHOUT HAVING WASHED UP THE DISHES HE USED. FOUR DIRTY CASSEROLE DISHES J GUESS I GET TO WASH UP ... argh the rage

DrRodneyMcKay · 20/09/2017 16:19

One certain male relative who always pisses all over the toilet and floor and leaves it, i have to go bleach around every fucking timeHmm

Sunnysidegold · 20/09/2017 16:24

Shouting from another room.
Dropping things over the top corner of the stairs because they are too lazy to bring it downstairs.
People letting the cat in.
People not supervising their own children (thinking of cousin who's little boy scribbled all over toy room furniture with marker. She had the cheek to say my children shouldn't have left them on the table).
People who can't fucking change a toilet roll.

DigitalGhost · 20/09/2017 16:24

People who come over when they're sick and bring their sick kids. Then sit talking about how sick they've all been whilst coughing all over your furniture. Especially annoys me ATM as I have a newborn baby.

DrRodneyMcKay · 20/09/2017 16:41

Oh yeah, my family do the sick thing too, normally when you have an important event or are just about to go on holiday, dont these people ever stop and think?!Shock

pandapop17 · 20/09/2017 16:49

Peachyking000 · 20/09/2017 17:06

Beatrice that sounds awful- can't he just clean his oven out or buy some ready cooked chicken?!

Ttbb · 20/09/2017 17:10

People who talk so loudly that you can hear them when you are hiding from them busy being deathly ill upstairs.

MistressDeeCee · 20/09/2017 17:15

I don't like anyone coming to my home and opening fridge without washing their hands. If you're going to seek food to prepare/eat then wash your bloody hands first.

DD1 has hardsoled slippers that are so loud! If she walks around late then I wake up. I've told her not to wear them in the house, wear a different pair but she forgets. So she's under warning now, get rid or I will find and bin them

When I have the heating on and its cold out, someone enters the room then goes out again leaving the door open, I mean isn't it obvious that the heat will escape? My mum does this ALL THE TIME

Thats it really
