For those of you who clean your bathrooms after every use

AIBU to wonder what you do with the cleaning cloths? Surely you can't wash them everyday but then don't they sit around and fester throughout the week?

I just put mine in the utility sink and the stick them in the machine at the next convenience but I know a lot of people who wash them by hand as soon as they have finished with them.

I use toilet roll to clean the toilet then flush it. Spray, wipe flush. Easy.

My used cloths get rinsed out and then go into the wash each evening. I have a load of washing every day and so they just get added to that

It's more the cloths for the sink/bath/shower.

If you rinse after each use then how do you dry them- leave them hanging around on the radiator looking messy?

And if you put them in the utility sink then you've got a load of damp cloths hanging around the house - surely they go mouldy?

I'm not criticising at all, I'm just curious what happens to all these cloths.

This has made me feel really lazy. If a cloth looks grubby I either bin it or put it in some bleach. A re-run of Cleanaholics has just started on a Sky channel. I used to love that.

I have a sponge for the sink and bath, I bin every couple of months? Maybe? It's rinsed and left to dry after every use. I use toilet roll and spray for the toilet and wipes for the floor which I bin.

Other cloths for damp dusting etc. get washed the same day as I usually do the whole house on the same day many days apart

OP, I use a machine washable cloth for the bathrooms. After use, I rinse it out and put it back where it lives - in a pot on the kitchen window sill with the scrubbing brush and wire wool scrubber. It gets machine washed when I remember.

OP, I know what you mean. I keep an ecloth in the shower room cos I dry down the shower every day, clean the sink with it then wipe over the floor. It takes me minutes every day but of course the cloth is wet at the end of it (but not "dirty")

I don't have a great solution but I hang it over the top of the shower door to dry out (my bathroom window is open most of the time).

I don't know what people do that have a pristine shower room (ie without a cloth hanging about)

Yeah my cloths get rinsed and then sit around festering 😉. Honestly, if you are cleaning every day, how dirty can the cloths be? I hang mine up in the shower.

I don't understand washing towels every day either. You shower your body so it's clean, then you wrap your clean body in a towel. Why does it then need washing??

I use a cloth to clean the bathroom, rinse it out and hang it on the towel rail. Even my often idiotic family realise that its not actually for drying themselves on. As I use cleaning products or soap with it it is probably one of the cleanest things in my house.

I have a pile of cloths/cleaning rags for each room so whatever I use gets chucked in the washing basket and put in the machine for a 60 cycle

I do 2-4 washes per day so I always have loads of cloths clean and ready to use. You can't clean with something that is dirty surely?

I put them the washing machine with whatever load I'm doing that day.

Don't clean the bathroom every use but all cleaning cloths go into a pedal bin and when there are enough of them they go in the washing machine on 90.
I wouldn't wash them with the other washing as I wash clothes on 30 or 40 degrees.

I'll save your sanity & answer briefly. When I clean 'properly' I use semi disposable blue cloths that have been (when new) used in the kitchen to wipe down the surfaces. (They get washed, dried out & put in a bag). It goes in the bin after the bathroom. The days in between I have a microfibre cloth that matches the bathroom/towels and I use that on the sink/shower/bath & it dries on the towel rail (it just looks like a facecloth). The toilet I'll use flushable wipes (but I put them in the bin).

I use those thick towel type bath mats & the microfibres cloths get washed with them.

I use toilet paper and spray for the toilet and sink. I would never use a cloth on the loo! Bath gets a rinse with a cloth which I replace weekly.

We shower. Shower is squeegeed after last person every day. When I remember I run a sponge around the sink with some environmentally friendly cleaner. The sponge is probably about a year old.

Lav gets a scrub every few days with a brush and some purple stuff.

You have too much time on your hands if you are doing anything more or even care frankly.

After several threads on here I thought I'd better up my game and clean the sink/shower more regularly (was a once-a-weeker!) but I then had this cloth hanging around the place until it dried. Thus lovely sparkling bathroom didn't look so great with a bright green microfibre cloth waiting to dry.

I wash towels once a week and put the cloths in with them.

Slightly off point but I hoover the shower glass with the karcher window vac and it looks so shiny and no cloths!
