To wonder if no knickers with tights is a thing?

So we have had a house guest and somehow in general conversation the topic of tights came up. She said "well of course when I wear those tights with a white gusset thing I don't bother with knickers". "Sorry, what?", I replied with a bit of a Hmm on. "Oh yeah that's why they have the white bit!"she explained with a knowing look.

Really? How have I spent 37 years not knowing this? Does everyone know and do this?

@Viserion ahhh thanks for clearing it up... i think because i dont wear them often i dont know different varieties. Im thinking of the tights with a tiny diamond patch (dont think they have any cotton at all) i need to go and google this!! If i had a gusset that acted like pants then id deffo go pantless! I dont see why not!

So. Sat outside in car waiting for school pick up time... decided "why not google now"

Realised about 5 parents had walked past my window while i had numerous pictures of women's crotches on my phone. Blush

What are you wearing your tights with to see/get camel toe??? I only wear dresses and I swear to god no camel toe. I also wear nothing less than 100 denier black tights and size them up because I like to keep my belly button lying I pull them up to just under my boobs which are relatively pert before I get droopy jibes warm.

As a no nicker wearer I'm also with @Arealhumanbeing and wear clothes that are not bloody see through. My partner checks for me too so it's doubly verified that nobody can see my vadge or arse cheeks.

Ah there is worse things to google@xqwertyx lol.

xqwertyx · 20/09/2017 17:29

Haha @Mustang27 this is true Grin

I usually wear knickers with tights unless there's a danger of VPL in which case I don't, the same with leggings, although with leggings my top usually covers my bum so VPL not an issue.

Have never worn pants over tights, sounds very supermany, although i remember my mum used to wear a girdle over tights but I thought that was a generation thing. I don't wear 1 size tights though as I'm tall and mainly wear Wolford velvet opaque ones in large which are expensive but last ages and don't fall down.

My gran always told me to cut the leg off of a pair of tights with a run in and wear two pairs, the bonus being you then didnt need pants. I dont do this.

Other items of clothing not requiring knickers are cycle shorts with chamois, running shorts that incorporate a pant layer and running tights that have a gusset. I'm knickerless in most sports activities. I also prefer the way leotards look without pants but know some women and girls are very keen on pants with leotards.

Arealhumanbeing · 20/09/2017 18:53

Yes. That extremely visible knicker line looks great under leotards.

Ivy79 · 20/09/2017 18:57

Never wear tights. And the thought of wearing them with no knickers? Shock

Surely it will cause ...thrush or something.

EWWWWWWWWWW!

LuluJakey1 · 20/09/2017 19:01

I buy M and S tights with cotton gussets- never wear knickers with them. I do if I am wearing very sheer tights with no cotton in gusset.

BrowsOnFleek · 20/09/2017 19:13

This is not a thing!

That's all.

Arealhumanbeing · 20/09/2017 20:02

The gusset is cotton. The bit that touches you is cotton, like knickers.

Made of cotton.

My knickers have an extra layer in the gusset region.

Plus, during ovulation, there's er, more of a requirement for knickers imo. I can't imagine having no knickers with tights ShockBlush

No.

If you are wearing synethic tights for the next 8 months ( ie autumn/winter ) pants are good. Otherwise wear them how you want sure,y?

timeisnotaline · 20/09/2017 22:56

Has never occurred to me but I am struck by the potential for when dressing up! The odd night can't hurt :) although the visibletummy line from the tights is another problem

hosiery4men · 25/09/2017 15:35

As a man who wears tights I wear underwear sometimes, and sometimes not. With thicker opaques, they work well as two-in-one garment - a brief and socks.
