Well, DP's hobby involves travelling quite a bit so if he's going somewhere nice, I'll go with him on a little road trip and I'll explore while he's doing his hobby stuff, and then we'll either have a long, cosy drive home while listening to our favourite radio stuff on iPlayer or we'll stop over in a hotel and have a nice meal together.
We also like going to restaurants, gigs and the odd trip to the theatre/cinema/comedy club. We like meeting up straight from work and having a couple of drinks before getting something to eat.
Sometimes we watch box sets or telly together although weirdly the one that brings us the biggest sense of togetherness is Only Connect; we have been known to spontaneously high-five if we solve the wall.
We used to do walks and stuff because I really love nature and wildlife and birdwatching, but haven't been able to do much of that this year as I've been recovering from an injury. We do now live opposite a colossal park though which is nice so we have a wander there.
We also love a good museum/gallery/historic attraction, the more obscure the better.
For some reason (I genuinely can't remember why) I insist that he takes me to Blackpool one Friday night per year during the Illuminations and we HAVE to have fish and chips and we HAVE to have doughnuts and we HAVE to mock the crapness of the tribute shows and end-of-the-pier comedians advertised. You get extra points if you spot a poster that claims that the comic in question is 'Too blue for TV' or a fortune-teller who has photos of herself with people from Brookside outside her booth.
Every New Year's Eve we refuse all invitations and stay in. DP cooks a lovely dinner, we listen to obscure stuff on Spotify and play boardgames and get absolutely hammered and wake up on New Year's Day with terrible hangovers.
I'm making it sound like we're about 80. We're not; we're in our 40s.
