To think my cat might have rabies.

He's chewed all the flesh from the tip of his tail, he was panicking because it was wet. I know it sounds mental but there is a possibility he was bitten by a bat and in England one species can carry a rabies virus.

Goodness, I sound crazy.

seeing

I might be wrong, but I was around all day yesterday and it's the only thing I can think of. Honestly wouldn't wish it on anyone. Really unpleasant experience.

Poor Mouse :( hope he is better soon!

Littledrummergirl · 05/09/2017 13:16

When we first got out lurches he had a very long, very waggy tail which he wagged so hard it hit a hard surface and split his tail.Walls would look as though murder had been done with blood splattered everywhere as his tail wagged.
After many weeks of vets visits for dressings etc we decided-with a heavy heart- to have his tail docked. He lost around 2/3. Sad
The end healed very quickly and he still has it long enough to chase that nowadays you wouldn't even know.
It's still very waggy. Smile

I hope mouse recovers quickly.

Thepersonineedisnannymcphee · 05/09/2017 13:21

I'm sure he'll be fine.

He's just unlucky! I had to take him to the vets a while back for getting bitten by the rabbit.

The other animals need to learn to play nice!!! Grin

Hope he recovers well. SIL has a cat with half a tail. Manages quite normally.

OnionKnight · 05/09/2017 14:14

Do you consider the cat 'part of the family' ?

What do you mean by this Neutrogena?

TiredMumToTwo · 05/09/2017 15:31

Poor Mouse, glad he's getting sorted & will be feeling much better after his op is over.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 05/09/2017 15:57

FWR ----> that way Bossy

Gramgram · 05/09/2017 17:19

Poor cat, he'll probably get a lovely collar to wear to stop him having another go at his tail. Hope he gets better soon. Will he have pills to take? You'll have fun getting him to take them.

Flowers for you, you deserve them. Wine for later.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 05/09/2017 17:19

God you poor things, what a nightmare to come down to in a morning, looks like a crime scene!

Hope Mouse recovers quickly.

Serialweightwatcher · 05/09/2017 17:40

How is Mouse now? Is he home? Sad

wowl · 05/09/2017 18:13

Oh poor mouse! My (now sadly departed) cat did similar once and ended up with no tail at all and it didn't bother him in the slightest - still hunting and running round like a loon! Hope he's home and enjoying his cone of shame Flowers

Thepersonineedisnannymcphee · 05/09/2017 18:29

He's home. Collar in place, and slightly less tail!

Also no rabies to report. Blush

Get well soon, Mouse (you silly banana).

Thepersonineedisnannymcphee · 05/09/2017 18:44

Thank you Blue!

You can't really tell in the picture but he's a rather handsome half bengal. Very sleek and regal looking.

He's hiding the stump as it spoils his majestic looks!
