I'm really don't want to go to work tomorrow as I've had enough of selfish workmate.
I really love my work. I've been in this job for 10 years, find it fulfilling, great terms and conditions but if things carry on I will go mad.
Colleague had twins 5 years ago and returned to work 2 days a week. Since she had her DC she seems to think that they take priority over her job - even when she is at work. Her DM and SIL take care of them so I would assume they are reliable and trustworthy but she rings them every half hour to check on things. Every half hour WITHOUT FAIL. She will even excuse herself from meetings.
My main issue though is that every appointment she has, doctor, dentist etc she arranges on the days she is at work. We have flexible working to accommodate for this, more so for full time staff who work every day, so we take shorter breaks or start early/finish late to make up the time but she doesn't bother. She just goes off for an hour or so at a time and that's it. This has been going on for years and I've spoken to my boss but nothing is ever addressed with her.
Anyway, her DC start school soon and she came in last week with a list of things she just MUST attend at school - prize givings, parents in-school days, assemblies and I know if they're on either of her 2 working days she will just go.
She won't have holiday leave to cover this as she is off for most of the summer and I'm sure she will want half term etc now too.
I've just had enough and it makes me so angry that she thinks this is acceptable.

I would text and say you’re available if she wants to call. 4 missed calls is a lot?

Abouttoblow · 07/10/2017 20:55

Is 9pm the cut off?

OP posts:
ScissorBow · 07/10/2017 20:56

What's so important?? Could you text her back?

Abouttoblow · 07/10/2017 20:57

I'm assuming she has something to say about her meeting yesterday

OP posts:
CodLiverOil556 · 07/10/2017 20:58

Text her to see what’s up Grin

Abouttoblow · 07/10/2017 20:59

Have sent a text saying she can call me back

OP posts:
Ploppie4 · 07/10/2017 21:22

Text her. Say sorry you’ve just realised that you’ve missed a few calls from her and you can speak before 10pm tonight or tomorrow. You hope the meeting went ok.

RiotAndAlarum · 07/10/2017 21:29

No need to be two-faced, when no-one hopes the meeting "went well" for FTCF, except for FTCF herself!

FiloPasty · 07/10/2017 21:35

I've been lurking, can't believe her front!

pameladoove · 07/10/2017 21:38

Has she seen this thread and wants to confront you?!

GreenTulips · 07/10/2017 21:45

I thought the same ^

Abouttoblow · 07/10/2017 21:48

Pamela and Green I really doubt it. More likely to be about yesterday's meeting.
If she has seen the threat every word I've said is true. She has mentioned how "horrific" she thinks Mumsnet is so don't think she'll be on here. Although she could have had a random look.

MyPatronusIsAUnicorn · 07/10/2017 21:48

We really need to know why she is phoning you!

The wedding ring thing is just plain weird, does no one say to her "why the hell do you feel the need to take a total non important piece of jewellery to your husband when you are supposed to be working? On what planet do you think this is ok?"

She is a total piss taker. I hope they have turned down her request for 3 days work!

Abouttoblow · 07/10/2017 21:50

I'll update if and when I hear from her.

OP posts:
RiotAndAlarum · 07/10/2017 22:02

Sweet dreams!!

aaaaargghhhhelpme · 08/10/2017 14:46

Did she call back op?!

Abouttoblow · 08/10/2017 17:03

She just called me.....to give me a heads up!

Meeting did not go well, told there is no chance of increasing her hours and she says flexi-time is a bit of a "hot potato" at the moment.
She tells me that flexi records are going to be audited so wanted to let me know. She's also contacted other members of the team. She seems quite relaxed about it so I don't think she gets how damaging it will be Confused
Also, I'm not clear if it's everyone's or just hers. She thinks it's everyone.

OP posts:
aaaaargghhhhelpme · 08/10/2017 17:12

Oh my god. That's insane

When you say audited do you mean they'll be checking actual work done against being 'logged in'? Just trying to think what they're going to find out....

I don't understand why she can't see how much trouble she's in.

RandomMess · 08/10/2017 17:20

I think she's giving this heads up expecting you all to cover for her each other!

You may have to actually say "remember to click out, big brother is watching" when she dashes off to do a personal errand...

RandomMess · 08/10/2017 17:21

Actually I would tell her that if she is clicked as being at work they can cross check her computer/phone use...

Appuskidu · 08/10/2017 17:27

I wonder why she is phoning you (and others) to let them know. She clearly thinks it's a huge issue for you lot as well.

Abouttoblow · 08/10/2017 17:28

So we have the machine that we scan our badges through which technically records when you are there (if you do it the way you should).

Our entire system runs through our computer network. Phones, diary, appointments. For example, we don't have a physical telephone in the office. We have a handset that works through our PC. This system shows when someone is offline, logged in and, most importantly, active. If you are not using your keyboard or mouse it will show you as inactive.

Auditing the actual flexi logins won't show anything but the other system will. So she'll have loads of periods of inactivity during the times she pisses off!

It's not going to be good at all and I dont know if she realises it.

LJLsmum · 08/10/2017 17:29

Been lurking on this thread and I'm so pleased you're doing something about this CF! Awaiting an update next week.

Abouttoblow · 08/10/2017 17:30

App She probably does think it's a problem for everyone because she does it.
I'm fine with them checking mine and I don't know any of the other staff would be worried either.

OP posts:
GreenTulips · 08/10/2017 17:33

So she thinks you all run errands during work time and you will all back each other because you are all slacking! She really is dim!
