Can't bear the man. Bad interviewer. Vile to his wife on This Morning. Smug. Self important.

I've probably spelt his name wrong but I CBA to Google him for the correct spelling. Why is he still on telly? 😠😡😤

I like him, & Ruth seems more than capable of handling him. It's all a bit of an act which she is clearly happy to go along with.
Op; you're falling into the trap of 'putting on a nice front' - if it's all good on show then it must be a wonderful marriage. In my experience it's usually the opposite.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 02/09/2017 13:32

Love, love Rylan.

He should be the permanent presenter; he's intelligent, very very funny and has a warm heart. His stint with Ruth when Eamonn had his hip done was priceless Grin.

Sisinisawa · 02/09/2017 13:35

I was interviewed by him and Ruth once and they were both lovely.
Phillip Schofield on the other hand....

AoibheannRose · 02/09/2017 13:56

Was he as smarmy and full of himself as I imagine Sisinisawa? I love Eamonn and Ruth and only watch when they are on, can't stand 'Schofe' and Holly, they are so childish and have not one ounce of professionalism between them. I think E&R have a really lovely relationship, they banter and slag each other off, but clearly adore each other. And I see that everyone on this thread who has actually met Eamonn have said he's a good guy.

VanillaSugar · 02/09/2017 14:20

But you asked for specific examples rhubardgin and when I told you that I could get you specific examples, you say I have an attitude Confused

It is interesting that people who've met him in real life seem to like him can't fathom it

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 02/09/2017 16:39

Pagan people in real life say he's a nice bloke?Shock, perish the thoughtSmile.

I like him, he's a journalist at heart and asks questions that aren't fluffy or sugar coated. Maybe he puts his foot in it but I've watched TM this summer and not found him to be a prick with any guests.

Sparklingbrook · 02/09/2017 16:41

I have a small soft spot for PS having seen him in Joseph twice and having a bit of a thing for him in the broom cupboard days. He always appears to be a very safe pair of hands on live TV, but I wouldn't want to cross him IYKWIM.

HW just cries/giggles her way through the programme.

I don't really have time to watch morning telly these days but I think Rylan and Emma Willis should just present everything.

treaclesoda · 02/09/2017 16:47

I wouldn't say I love him, or even like him, but I have met him in real life when he was a customer of a place I worked and he was very friendly and warm and very polite.

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 02/09/2017 16:48

For some reason I thought he had cheated or had an affair (long time ago), and I've disliked him since! Have I got it wrong and been hating him for the wrong reason for years Shock

Thinking about it, I still don't like him, even if he is as faithful as the day is long. Too smarmy.

chewbaccathehooky · 02/09/2017 16:49

Eamonn is one of the loveliest men, honestly! Kind, funny and generous with his time. I love him on screen, and IRL he's helpful above and beyond the call of duty. I ❤️ him

Sparklingbrook · 02/09/2017 16:55

Hi Ruth. Grin

TheLittleShirt · 02/09/2017 17:16

The one thing about him that irritates me is how he always refers to Ruth as ' my wife' . yes I know she is your wife, in fact everybody knows that, but she has a name , she is not your possession.

PolaDeVeboise · 02/09/2017 17:19

He was commented that my DS was cute when he saw a photo of him on my friend's PC (she worked at Sky at the time). For that reason alone, I LOVE HIM :D

HateSummer · 02/09/2017 17:23

chewbacca 😂 Is that your nickname for eamonn at home, Ruth?

FenceSitter01 · 02/09/2017 17:35

Many years ago DH was on a quiz show with Eamon Holmes. My DH is very easy going, laid back, never takes offence at anyone, never has a nasty word to say. He pronounced Holmes an absolute cunt, with a monumental hang over, was appallingly rude to the contestants and the camera crew alike, held up filming because he was too fucked to remember his lines and they all had to stay another day.

Sophiealice95 · 02/09/2017 17:43

I love them both. I will only watch This Morning when Holly and Phil aren't on it. Smug comes to mind. I also feel like this ever since Phillip put his floury hands on Holly's bottom. I didn't find it at all funny in fact I found it quite offensive and imho the behaviour of a dirty old man.

treaclesoda · 02/09/2017 17:47

For some reason I thought he had cheated or had an affair (long time ago)

I think he did. He has an ex wife and I think he cheated on her. I am not 100% sure of that though, so if I am making an incorrect allegation I apologise.

treaclesoda · 02/09/2017 17:52

Yes, have just had a quick Google and it seems that at a time many years back, he had his wife back in Belfast, and his girlfriend Ruth in London...

SportyBobster · 02/09/2017 18:00

I've not watched this morning since the Richard and Judy days, but I'm sure I remember Eamon and Ruth on some kind of hidden camera thing (maybe Ant and Dec??) and I remember thinking he was horrible to Ruth.

Bridezilla2be · 02/09/2017 18:12

I love them both, so glad people who've met EH say he's nice - he seems so much more genuine than Phil & Holly (won't watch TM while they're on anymore).

Rylan and Alison are great too though! They would be my four presenters Grin

derxa · 02/09/2017 18:17

Rylan and Alison are great too though! They would be my four presenters grin I agree. Rylan is my favourite. I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaate Holly and Philip with a passion.

Sparklingbrook · 02/09/2017 18:21

I do like Alison. I know she's a bit marmite but you can't fault her enthusiasm and the interviews with the film stars are comedy gold.

derxa · 02/09/2017 18:24

the interviews with the film stars are comedy gold. Yes they are. so natural and silly. We don't have enough silliness at the moment.
