Can't bear the man. Bad interviewer. Vile to his wife on This Morning. Smug. Self important.

I've probably spelt his name wrong but I CBA to Google him for the correct spelling. Why is he still on telly? 😠😡😤

So why does he make those sly digs to Ruth if he loves her so much? I would be appalled if my DH said anything like that to me.

DrRodneyMcKay · 02/09/2017 11:20

he is awful, cannot understand what Ruth sees in him. I have to turn over when he is on TV, he is sarcastic and rude, and hiding behind a woman on that Lottery clip, what a wimp

SilverySurfer · 02/09/2017 11:21

Only one word to describe him - ugh

LordPercy · 02/09/2017 11:22

He's a twat. No reason to debate it surely? 🤔😆 YANBU

ijustwannadance · 02/09/2017 11:28

He just seems so letchy. Drooling over all the attractive women, even when Ruth is next to him.

I thought Ryland's husband was bloody awful when he was helping present the show last week. Nice bloke but seemed very nervous.

PaganGoddessBrigid · 02/09/2017 11:29

I agree, awful man and always disliked him but felt i was being unreasonable somehow, then I saw him interview a young woman who was raising awareness about the need to introduce new laws to make it a crime to share photos and 'slut shame'. She was articulate and spoke about the damage done to people and the fact that the laws need to catch up with technology. Eamonn sat there just waiting for her to shut up and then said ''do you regret posing naked for the photos?''. Such a dick. Luckily she patiently calmly explained that that was not the point and she'd been asked on the show to discuss why there was a need for new legislation.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 02/09/2017 11:32

Ruth strikes me as the sort of woman perfectly capable of telling him to fuck off of she wasn't happy. Some couples do trade each other,dh and I do all the time.

I totally get their relationship, they're great.

mydogisthebest · 02/09/2017 11:48

I like him and Ruth. They obviously adore each other and are just joking.

I only watch when they are on as I can't stand Philip and Holly.

StatueInTheSky · 02/09/2017 11:50

user1471439727 ....is that you Eamonn?? Did your youtube alarm go off?

Never mind any other criticisms on this thread, eh?

How about the Twitter row over his name calling to the Manchester Police Chief Constable when dear Eamonn felt he wasn''t being kept informed on current events mere hours after a terrorist attack on children. Hasn't even got the balls to stand by his comments and deletes his tweets when challenged.

....does that help to clarify the sort of man he is?

RhubardGin · 02/09/2017 11:52

Can you give a few examples OP?

I don't watch it regularly but when I do I think they come accross really well.

They seem to have quite a fun relationship and tease each other, she often pokes fun at him too.

ticketytock1 · 02/09/2017 11:58

I like him, he seems to adore Ruth. I know some of his family, they are lovely people

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 02/09/2017 12:05

He talks over and across Ruth, as though what she has to say is less important/interesting/relevant to the interview. At the moment, he's always talking about her dancing and going to watch every week when she's on Strictly. Is he deluded? Middle aged women don't have longevity on Strictly, unless they're the comedy turn and she's not that.

I don't like Phil's (in particular) holidays being touted all over the press. Especially if they're freebies. I actually think that Rylan is the most intelligent of the presenters. He's fashioned a career out of nothing and is witty and can read an autocue.

LolaTheDarkdestroyer · 02/09/2017 12:07

He is awful so patronising to his wife. A complete bell end.

Albinohedgehogs · 02/09/2017 12:10

He is hilarious and really calm and professional I prefer him and Ruth to holly and phill and I've been on maternity leave for ages now #qualified

Argeles · 02/09/2017 12:15

I'm not very fond of him, but it's Ruth I can't stand.

She looks so fake and uncomfortable in herself - so rigid with that wiggy hair style. I think she wears some nice clothes, but they look too tight on her, and she looks like she's constantly making an effort to stand as tall as she can.

I get the impression she's bound tight in 3 layers of Spanx and can't move or breathe properly.

She seems fake too and doesn't build a rapport with guests.

If you think I'm being harsh, you should hear my Mum's opinions on her...

BastardGoDarkly · 02/09/2017 12:17

He does talk over her, cut her off, its very very obvious at times, that's not Joking, that's showing his feeling that him and his opinions are more important than her and hers.

God knows why though, she's way more intelligent, empathetic and funny than he is.

I don't like him, no.

rackhampearl · 02/09/2017 12:23

Agree with some PP I don't like any of them. Feel like they're always taking the piss of the callers in or the people on the show. Holly is so fake it's unreal, even her sympathetic face with the furrowed brow just screams falseness. Ruth is the same. I cringe at their reactions to some of the poor people calling in with an issue. And they never really get any real advise, what's the about? They should scrap that segment of the show. It's bollocks and cringey.

GabsAlot · 02/09/2017 12:31

hs said thinks like remember when u tried dieting?

that was a classic-or do shutup ruth-several times its not cute its humilating

heartstornastray · 02/09/2017 12:35

It's just a bit of husband and wife banter, she puts him in his place though, but in a nice way. Out of the two i prefer her.

I don't like Holly and Phil at all, i agree about Hollys fake "furrowed brow" which appears every time she tries to look sympathetic to people who are the sort she'd definitely never have as friends. We see too much of "smug" Phil, he's on far too many programmes for my liking.

VanillaSugar · 02/09/2017 12:39

^^ what other posters said. I don't need to provide specific examples as there are too many snide put downs. I will, if you insist, watch it next Friday and then quite his remarks verbatim. I I must.
