To never wear tights again

All they seem to do is fall down bobble get holes in. I'm yet to find a pair I love. I struggle with the whole denier thing. I want a denier that's opaque and you can't see any skin. Then a pair that's slightly more sheer but not seethrough any tips

My ten pairs of M&S 100 dernier body sensor tights have lasted nearly 4 years. Not worth spending any more than that OP.

Escapepeas · 29/08/2017 20:53

Another vote for Wolford opaques. They last for ages and keep their shape after many washes. Never had a problem with them falling down or wrinkling at the ankles.

Bit mystified at the vehemence over tights being 'rank'. I wear them every day in the winter. I wash them after every wear and if you buy decent quality ones they're not stinky or sweaty. I used to wear hold-ups but having put on a bit of weight I find they are uncomfortable and don't prevent chafe.

Mushybanna23 · 29/08/2017 22:00

Love hold ups but being only 23 they sometimes show under my dress or skirt lengths

I hate them and never wear them...

Oysterbabe · 29/08/2017 22:09

I just never stopped wearing maternity tights, they come up so high you can tuck them under your bra #sexy.

Maria1982 · 29/08/2017 22:13

YADDNBU

I'm also a fan of hold-ups. M&S black opaques for me.
Tights constrict me and make me hot sweaty

BlondeB83 · 29/08/2017 22:15

M&S!

Antoniacaenis · 29/08/2017 22:15

YADNBU! Tights are the spawn of satan. Leggings and boots is the way to go!

NormaDesmondsEyebrows · 29/08/2017 22:16

Ooh this is a blast from the past.

AccrualIntentions · 29/08/2017 22:17

I love the primark 40 denier shaping tights, I've got a really long torso and practically all tights are too short in the body for me but these come all the way up to my bra, keep me warm and give a smooth line under clothes. I'm 27 weeks pregnant and still wearing them to work every day unless it's warm, I just sized up and they go over my bump perfectly and actually provide quite a bit of support. Can't complain for £2.50.

indigox · 29/08/2017 22:17

+1 for Primark tights. I wear them daily, none have bobbled, and they don't fall down.

NormaDesmondsEyebrows · 29/08/2017 22:19

What does being 23 have to do with skirt length?

Confused
Flyinggeese · 29/08/2017 22:31

How is anyone wearing tights in this heat? I'm in the north of England and it's roasting!

cheapskatemum · 29/08/2017 22:32

I think washing tights at 30 degrees, in one of those mesh bags, helps stop them bobbling.

fullofhope03 · 29/08/2017 22:40

Ooh I love tights! Black opaque to hide my pathetic pasty pins Smile
Wolford are amazing and really do last (they should as they cost a bleedin' fortune) but are so worth it.
Love the idea of wearing a second pair of bloomers over them too!

mynameisspam · 29/08/2017 22:47

I love Primark tights. I had a 80 denier pair that lasted for 2 winters. I can buy nude right from anywhere and regardless of them being expensive or cheap they ladder easily.

ladygracie · 29/08/2017 22:50

Primark here too. Also a bit confused by the "being 23" comment.

StrawberrySquash · 30/08/2017 00:41

I buy a size way too big and that seems to help on the falling down.

I will never wear tights again
Haven't for years
Don't wear skirts

TheSnorkMaidenReturns · 30/08/2017 01:07

23 probably means my 'short' skirt is granny length .

I only have one skirt that would show hold ups, and it's a high summer number. I guess that means I'm not 23 Grin.

RedBullBlood · 30/08/2017 01:21

The being 23 comment is only slightly weirder than the sudden influx of tights threads...
Is thing 'your thing', op?

SenecaFalls · 30/08/2017 01:34

Hate them with a passion. I haven't worn them since 1997.

noeffingidea · 30/08/2017 07:55

It's hard to imagine a more pointless piece of clothing than tights (or stockings) . I haven't worn them (other than for a couple of weddings) since 1988. Can't imagine ever wearing them again.

IrritatedUser1960 · 30/08/2017 07:56

i haven't been out of trousers in 20 years.
