Potential Business Idea

Ok, so my AIBU is, AIBU to think that this is a viable business idea that could tap into a massive market?

So the idea is this, you know how you get mobile dog groomers, well why isn't there the same for babies? Don't all jump on me at once - hear me out.

I'm not talking about for every bath / hair wash etc, but for special occasions, or routine maintenance (nails filled / hair cut etc).

Im not quite sure on the pricing, was thinking along the same lines as dog groomers, and similar to the biggest dog washing company, it could be franchised making plenty of pennies.

All staff would be trained / checked to the correct level, suitable products would be used or parents own if preferred.

What do people think? Would you use this service if available in your area?

Thanks!

@TroysMammy - I expected to be taken with huge pinch of salt!

Bizarre but not malicious, I'm not sure why people are acting offended.

Oh OP

I'm not surprised to read the thread and find loads of po faced replies. MN used to be full of savvy and intelligent women who could spot a joke from the off. Not now though unfortunately

I thought it was witty and fun.

Remember that episode of Friends where Rachel's awful sister announces that she's going to be a 'baby stylist'? Then it doesn't work out because 'people don't like hearing that their babies are ugly'?

Moanyoldcow · 25/08/2017 16:46

@Moanyoldcow - no im not joking at all. Ok so not grooming as much, but babies love a fun bath, a hair wash, need their nails clipping. And mums might love 30 mins to themselves to put their swollen feet up and have a sneaky g&t

This was your reply when I asked 'are you joking'. Surprisingly, therefore, we didn't think you were.

gggrrrargh · 25/08/2017 17:02

I actually hate cutting my baby's nails since I accidentally cut the skin and it bled, although i was more upset than she was! Now i get paranoid and make a song and dance before mustering the nerve to do it. so I do get the idea. I wouldn't pay for it though i make my friends help me when they visit Smile

Utterly bonkers but thanks for the laugh OP Grin

You expected it to be taken with a "huge pinch of salt" but insisted you weren't joking, whilst posting in a non comedic fashion?

Confused

Ok.

KittysMyName · 25/08/2017 17:43

Perhaps you could open a place like dog kennels, but for babies. So parents can drop them off before they go on holiday! Grin
