Love Rick Wilson

I've been following the trump saga for months but hello MN thread about it.

It definitely all seems to be winding up to fever pitch, doesn't it?

Almost popcorn time?!

The eternal trump presidency conundrum - which is more terrifying, lying or sheer incompetence?

Trump Defense Department sent nearly 5,000 fewer troops for Harvey recovery than claimed

Actually, I'm probably being too harsh. They had other things to be getting on with so perhaps it's unfair on this occasion

#BREAKING: Justice Department contradicts Trump: There's no evidence Obama wiretapped Trump Tower

Who looks most uncomfortable?

AcrossthePond55 · 02/09/2017 19:37

Ah, Pain! Don't be silly. They're using 'Trumpematics'. You know, where Trump's inauguration crowd of 200,000 was > than Obama's 1.8 million.

Using Trumpematics, the Fed has deployed 200,000 federal troops 'boots on the ground' to Texas, not however many it is claiming. I expect it's including Natl Guards which are STATE troops and under the command of a state governor. I'm also sure it's including the sailors that are 'standing by' on ships in the Gulf.

God Bless the troops that are helping out, though, no matter the number or who sent them.

"What did the families tell you earlier?"

"They were just happy. I saw a lot of happiness."

Y'all, we need to talk about this.

Listen, he's the president. People are going to be nice and polite around him.

But you can't remember one thing a family said to you?

You really think these people are HAPPY? Their homes are destroyed and they're packed in a shelter and you saw nothing but happiness?

I get it's important to you to get credit for a job well done but maybe you could take a moment and LISTEN to these people.

They've just been through probably the worst experience of their lives. And it's just beginning. They deserve to be heard.

They need their stories told. Meeting the president is a chance to do that. And you didn't listen if all you saw was happiness.

I really did want him to do a good job today. I know it's hard to believe coming from me, but I really did.

Anyway, I miss Obama.

Pain I'm sure that any Harvey victims who met Scrotus were carefully vetted beforehand. If they were real victims at all that is, instead of paid actors.

W T A F?

"As tough as this was, it's been a beautiful thing."

I've just come across that same clip.

They should remove the glue from his office.

He's no longer even making a show of thinking straight.

It's a garbled rendition of what he has been told about why he needs to be there.

That will give King Felipe VI a fright! Grin

The Red Cross representative is the only who isn't distributing pats on the backs, but mentioning how heartbreaking this has been.

Melania: "It's great to be here". Sigh.

VP Pence, nice and sickening arse kissing.

Roussette · 02/09/2017 21:14

What's the point of the pressers? I just don't get it. Nothing gets answered. It's just spin, nonsense, and saying'I'll get back to you on that one'

Thank god we don't do them in UK

badbadhusky · 02/09/2017 21:32

"Speculation"? Really? I'd say more like cold hard fact. But then again, I'd expect the same if Russia gave a US embassy 48 hrs to GTFO of Dodge. There would be a madness of shredding, burning, boiling, anything that would destroy documents beyond restoration.

Didn't the Iranians spend months painstakingly piecing back together the sacks of shredded documents from the US' Tehran Embassy after the Shah was overthrown in the 70s? Burning is definitely more secure.

Lweji · 02/09/2017 21:35

Shredding is only useful to bag the documents and to burn on the fire.

cozietoesie · 02/09/2017 21:38

Years and years in most cases, bad. (They had decent shredders for the day.) Grin
