I did not realise Cambridge Analytica had involvement in Kenya.

Apparently, the Russians are having bonfires too - both at the SF embassy and the DC embassy.

More palace intrigue stuff but this time with a side of irony

www.thedailybeast.com/john-kelly-pushing-out-omarosa-for-triggering-trump

Kelly “is not thrilled by any means by [Manigault],” a West Wing official told The Daily Beast. “He is, however, thrilled that he has been able to stop staffers including Omarosa from bolting into the Oval Office and triggering the president with White House [palace] intrigue stories.”

Does anyone know (or speculate, I suppose) why there seems to be all this information about mueller's investigation now whereas it was all very tightly controlled before?

I wonder (but it is wot-I-reckonry) if they are drip-feeding info to prepare the public for imminent charges, gradually fleshing out what is a complex narrative, so that Trump's removal doesn't tip the country over into unrest when it finally does happen.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 02/09/2017 08:54

That seems plausible. There have been calls to civil wars if he's impeached so perhaps this a way of shifting the Overton window on this

Found this

Watch: Televangelist Jim Bakker says Christians will begin a second civil war in the U.S. if Trump is impeached.

www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/world/a-weather-eye-gets-donald-trump-through-his-first-real-test-hurricane-harvey-houston-flooding-z7dq63xwc

Mr Trump’s claim to have witnessed the flood devastation “first-hand” raised eyebrows after he visited Corpus Christi, a city that escaped relatively lightly. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, his press secretary, was asked to explain. Rather than admit a mistake she tried to rewrite English. Mr Trump, she said, had been told about conditions on the ground — “that certainly is a first-hand account”.

New NYT detail: Rosenstein was given a copy of the Trump-Miller Comey letter, "who then drafted his own letter."

If this is true, it's very very bad for Rosenstein.

Talk of Assange pardon worries intelligence community

thehill.com/policy/technology/348773-could-trump-pardon-assange?amp

(No surprises as to which GOPper is involved)

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.), who has come under scrutiny for his own ties to Russia, is behind the Assange pardon push.

The deal Rohrabacher is trying to cut: pardon Assange in exchange for information he claims proves Russia did not collude with the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential race.
