Thank you to all the people who have been monitoring the many threads of what is happening.
I followed the links given here and have read lots.
For me it keeps coming back to this: power does not concede without demand.
The most powerful humans for the last 70-ish years have been white, male, english-speaking, heterosexual, American.
That means that the gun-toting, misogynistic, hate-filled men that were prominent in the Vice News piece are a logical push-back against the left-driven agenda to democratise power.
They didn't have a voice or a forum, until Trump emerged. And he emerged fully formed- following some of the links here, I came across interviews he did in the 1990's where he was using some of the same phrases he uses now.
Frighteningly, there are references to his admiration of Hitler's propaganda skills and
"Ivana Trump told her lawyer Michael Kennedy that from time to time her husband reads a book of Hitler’s collected speeches, My New Order, which he keeps in a cabinet by his bed."
I am not suggesting that he is a Nazi, but he has told us by his actions who he is, for a very long time.
I am so disappointed in the US.
