To think they should just ban nuts on all flights

Just reading this and it's heartbreaking, seems like such a simple change to ban nuts on all flights to help protect people.

I've heard several people on mn saying they've been on flights where they were banned, seams to make sense as nut allergies are so widespread to just ban all together imo.

I know about that case bit experts disbuted the cause

You know that how, exactly? There, were you? Happened to someone you know?
Link to your knowledge if there is one?

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 21/08/2017 20:27

sally is a nasty twat.

MyLittlePickleBoo · 21/08/2017 20:29

I agree they should be banned totally.

Aeroplane cabins are pretty gross anyway and between flights they don't get much of a clean. What's to stop someone eating a bag of nuts on a flight then touching the seats, dropdown table, toilet door, etc. and then someone with a severe nut allergy getting on the next flight and sitting in that same seat? It's a scary thought!

I suppose you could say the same about any public place but in general I'd assume you'd be less likely to touch something that's been in contact with someone's nutty hands than you would on a flight where they're commonly served!

4691IrradiatedHaggis · 21/08/2017 20:31

Has this now become a joke thread? How soon can someone die, then maybe it will be taken seriously?

The poster saying I fully support a nut ban on planes and then goes on to say that if they don't know the person involved they shouldn't be dictated to and it's all irrelevant - there are no words. Vile.

bruffin · 21/08/2017 20:32

Because i actually read a bit further than a scaremongering newspaper stories. My ds 21 anaphylatic to nuts and seeds ive read a lot.

Because i actually read a bit further than a scaremongering newspaper stories.

Back up your claims then, if it was disputed there'd be an online link.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen
You think using Dettol wipes causes life threatening nut allergies?

Cherry-picked to the nth degree!

Well done!

sunglassally · 21/08/2017 20:34

Kittybiscuits, FGS., post hunters must have a sad life. Who would spend their time checking out previous posters. I'm looking at you but I don't care either, Your problem not mine. Say it out if you feel you can about my name changing. Not that I care either.

Mnet is for a laugh (apart from certain sensitive boards)

Bad language is horrible too. I don't like it, but that's just me.

4691IrradiatedHaggis · 21/08/2017 20:35

Mnet is for a laugh (apart from certain sensitive boards)

People dying from life threatening condition threads shouldn't be about the laugh though.

sunglassally · 21/08/2017 20:36

@StillStayingClassySanDiego

Hi there , how are you? foaming at the mouth or having a cup of tea and laughing at it all, as I am mostly. X

4691IrradiatedHaggis · 21/08/2017 20:38

foaming at the mouth or having a cup of tea and laughing at it all, as I am mostly

At the risk of feeding what is now undoubtedly a troll, you're foul. To laugh at 4 year olds nearly dying - ugh.
Takes a special kind of vile to laugh at people dying.

imjessie · 21/08/2017 20:38

My god there are some selfish people , I bet you would feel differently if it were your child or dh . I would be happy for them to be banned but surely nuts are in a lot of things too?

sunglassally · 21/08/2017 20:40

Wake up, that is not what I said, I made no reference to people dying from life threatening diseases,

but there we are, attack the poster not the post, and do not read before posting either. Nice.

EvansOvalPies · 21/08/2017 20:40

Hmm, something a bit more than nut oil going in with someone here, methinks.
Perhaps just ignore. Like a naughty child. Bless her.

4691IrradiatedHaggis · 21/08/2017 20:41

Wake up, that is not what I said

Read your posts back. You fkn did.

Willow2017 · 21/08/2017 20:43

WARNING UPSETTING PHOTO ON LINK.

But apart from fatal allergies, sorry, I think it is attention seeking

Your ignorance is bliss.
Maybe you could dare to scroll down this link to see what a non fatal allergic reaction (only non fatal due to the medical help he got quickly) looks like on a little boy. Just in case you dont bother to read it, he doesnt have to have first hand contact with peanuts, 2nd hand will do nicely thank you.

21:30pm - nearly bedtime. Warm Milk, Sunglass?

sunglassally · 21/08/2017 20:44

Just ban nuts on planes. I am all in favour.

Replace nuts with pretzels or popcorn.

Some people get too invested in getting annoyed for the sake of it.

4691IrradiatedHaggis · 21/08/2017 20:47

I would be happy for them to be banned but surely nuts are in a lot of things too?

Nuts are in lots of things, but if they're contained in food it's slightly different as you'd have to eat them (or kiss someone who's just eaten them for example.)
The reason why packets of nuts should be banned on planes is because packets of nuts, when opened, create a dust that escapes into the air.
You don't have to eat the nuts yourself to have a deadly reaction, you could be sat several rows back and your throat could close up.

4691IrradiatedHaggis · 21/08/2017 20:47

That statement being in complete contradiction to other statements you've spouted on here.

SingaSong12 · 21/08/2017 20:56

Haven't RTFT
I'm happy for a ban on nuts on flights. I can live for many hours without them. They would definitely need to ban from airports though as so many of he snacks and food in the restaurants or cafes contain them. If asked not to take on flight people will finish what they have bought at the gate which might be almost as dangerous (just like you see smokers at the doors of buildings now.).

If the announcement was made I would be worried that anything I bought shouldn't be eaten.
Question for those who have allergies or DC with them if there is an announcement is it will enough for others just not to eat products that "contains nuts" or "may contain traces of nut" or packed in an environment that contains nuts"

Tapandgo · 21/08/2017 20:56

Nobody needs to eat nuts on planes. People with this nut allergy need the environment around them to be nut free.

Yes - of course nuts should be banned on planes.

sunglassally · 21/08/2017 20:58

posters who have castigated me have posted nothing to back up their argument.

Apart from vitriol and bad language, but that is normal from those who are out manoeuvred and have nothing to say apart from bad language and whatever. That is weak.

Ban peanuts on planes, I have supported this ad infinitum. But you will not listen. Where will it end? That is my question.

bruffin · 21/08/2017 20:58

There is tim specter

4691IrradiatedHaggis · 21/08/2017 21:02

Ban peanuts on planes, I have supported this ad infinitum.

You really have not. Somebody please scroll back and find my post, the one outlining your contradicting statements, as I really cannot be arsed to type it all out again!
