It's been around for a while, and if I've misheard it, please do correct me.
Little Mix, 'Sad Songs'. Here we go...

'So tonight, I'm going to get my mind of it, don't care that someone's got his hands all over my body'

WHAT???

You're upset, trying to take your mind of it, in a club, someone's groping you and you're not bothered?

Makes me feel ill every time I hear it. And having done a lot of driving this weekend with kids who will not listen to anything but Capital, I've heard it a lot.

Would recommend you steer clear of Rammstein then...

lynmilne65 · 22/08/2017 17:47

i love f not you and under my thumb !!!

ItsNachoCheese · 22/08/2017 17:51

I dont want anybody else when i think about you i touch myself. Cant remember who sings it though

lynmilne65 · 22/08/2017 17:52

Some people have filthy minds, there are hundreds of songs one can reinterpretate (sp!)

dustarr73 · 22/08/2017 17:54

Nacho the Divinynls sang that song. And how i that song disgusting.

Offred2 · 22/08/2017 17:58

Back in the late eighties when I was 9 years old or so, my favourite song was Push It by Salt n Pepa. I used to happily sing along without knowing what the lyrics were actually about.

Listening to that song now, the lyrics are so explicit. Ah, the (relative) innocence of youth!

pollymere · 22/08/2017 18:00

I guess you've never felt like that. In a club, having broken up with your boyfriend and trying to erase his memory with the first half attractive man you meet! Not a lyric for kids though, agreed.

lynmilne65 · 22/08/2017 18:00

Nooooo I love I drove all night 🙂

SpareChangeDownTheSofa · 22/08/2017 18:09

Try CupcakKe - Deep Throat. Grin

noeffingidea · 22/08/2017 18:18

I don't see anything rapey about I drove all night. It specifically says 'to wake you up' .

dogfish1 · 22/08/2017 18:20

MrsOllyMurs you're right - In middle American parlance "daddy" can refer to a male partner, and Bruce uses it this way in at least two other songs, Open All Night and Racing in the Street: "she sits on the porch of her daddy's house..". Daddy's not her dad!

Geronimooooo · 22/08/2017 18:26

When I was young I liked to sing the bad touch by the bloodhound gang... luckily I was older when I discovered chasey lane. A song about fantasising sleeping with a porn star

KungFuPandaWorksOut16 · 22/08/2017 18:28

Somebody mentioned it earlier

Was so cringey hearing this being sang in school.

Also another cringey one hearing teenagers singing.

I can't stomach that Jason derulo song "swalla", end up pearl clutching at it.

Beeziekn33ze · 22/08/2017 18:30

'Run for your Life' is horrible. Surprised it's taken me 50 years to discover that!

LindseyD13 · 22/08/2017 18:31

My husband and I are both primary school teachers and one of his colleagues thought it appropriate to give out the lyrics to 'Greased Lightning' to the children in the choir to learn. Needless to say he had a lot of running around school to do that day!

Some of the lines include:

'You know that ain't no shit, we'll be getting lots of tit...'
'You are supreme, the chicks'll cream...'
'You know that I ain't bragging, she's a real pussy wagon...'

I always found that to be one of the most vulgar songs I've heard!

Notevilstepmother · 22/08/2017 18:39

The prize for the most ridiculous sex reference goes to Incubus with

“Pink tractor beam into your incision”

Grin
Notevilstepmother · 22/08/2017 18:41

Have we had "you and me baby ain't nothing but mammals, let's do it like they do on the discovery channel"?

Heard an Ed Shearan song yesterday "I n love with your body" ? That made me cringe.

FaveNumberIs2 · 22/08/2017 18:44

Definitely more disturbing lyrics out there, try listening to Blurred Lines

That being said, I think song lyrics are like fiction books. They are just fiction, stories, words that rhyme to fit the music.

Besides, if your single and dancing in a club to forget the idiot ex boyfriend, you're not going to mind a guy grabbing your hand/arm/shoulder/ass and twirling you around the dance floor.

(Or is that just me? I've been married for 21 years, it's been a long time since a stranger twirled me around a club!)

MooominMamma · 22/08/2017 18:44

DH is Jamaican and he listens to a dancehall song which has the opening lyrics . . .

I have a penis for your vagina hole

later in the song it has the lyrics . . .

I could have sworn I came in her mouth

quality song lyrics right there!! Needless to say, he knows I'd rather he not listen to it when the DC are in earshot.

TizzyDongue · 22/08/2017 18:46

@scaryclown "if you want to be my lover, you have to do all my friends" as in the Spice Girls song?

Possibly one of the most humorous misheard lyrics I've seen Grin. Made me laugh.

Only realised the lyrics of Under My Thumb due to this thread. Well that's sinister isn't it, why on earth would someone set it to music.

RedBlackberries · 22/08/2017 18:46

notevil I had a sex dream about that song many years ago Blush

Ah, I fecking LOVE My Neck, My Back!! I think it's so shocking simply because it's such a flagrant expression of female sexual assertiveness. The woman as subject, not object. You don't hear that every day. The video is wonderful, too, in its subversion of every tired old sexist rap cliche. Cheers me up mightily every time I see or hear it!

This! Compared to the songs glorifying pleasing men, abusive relationships or rape, a song entirely about the unashamed pursuit of female sexual pleasure is pretty bloody refreshing. I also love 'not tonight' by lil'kim which is along the same lines Grin
