It's been around for a while, and if I've misheard it, please do correct me.
Little Mix, 'Sad Songs'. Here we go...

'So tonight, I'm going to get my mind of it, don't care that someone's got his hands all over my body'

WHAT???

You're upset, trying to take your mind of it, in a club, someone's groping you and you're not bothered?

Makes me feel ill every time I hear it. And having done a lot of driving this weekend with kids who will not listen to anything but Capital, I've heard it a lot.

No one has mentioned my dingaling by chuck berry.

The80sweregreat · 23/08/2017 14:05

Most Prince songs were about sex. The one about the prostitute was a bit disturbing. He seemed obsessed with it - most lyricists seem to be.

Flyingflipflop · 23/08/2017 14:27

No one has mentioned my dingaling by chuck berry.

That was the least of Chuck Berrys naughty lyrics. He did sing Good Morning Little Schoolgirl and It's Too Dark In There, finishing with the line 'we finally got the fuse in'.

And of course he couldn't get the seat belt off his date in Riding Along in my Automobile......

Mamahanji · 23/08/2017 14:31

Blurred lines is such a rapey song. Makes me feel sick every time I hear it.

Batteriesallgone · 23/08/2017 15:41

Never could understand the outrage against blurred lines tbh. In the song she's a girl fed up with her bf and wants to cheat, he's saying hey I'll have fun with you seeing as you're grabbing at me...I mean I don't think cheating is great or anything but couldn't work out where the rape overtones supposedly come from. 'Split your arse in two' is yuck I know...

I think there's far worse songs out there personally

For the person who mentioned shaggy
Clawdy · 23/08/2017 16:57

I remember when My Dingaling was banned, and even my dad who disliked all pop music said "Ridiculous! It's just like one of the silly rude George Formby songs, and nobody ever talked about banning them."

ThanksForAllTheFish · 23/08/2017 18:44

I think the most disturbing song is Daddy by Korn.

I've linked the lyrics rather than post them. The song is about him being molested as a child (not by his father but a family friend). I have to skip that track every time as I just can't stomach it - particularly the end of the track when he's crying. Horrible.

Then GG Allin will certainly never be your thing Grin

SamineShaw · 23/08/2017 20:49

One lyrics that sticks in my mind is from the Seahorses Love is the Law

Strap-on Sally chased us down the alley We feared for our behinds

Grin
BazilGin · 23/08/2017 21:13

Diane by Therapy? Very disturbing song.

AlpacaLipsNow · 23/08/2017 21:22

Stereophonics annoys me every time.

'At two o'clock in the morning
Sure I'm at the party house
I meet the roommate getting some water
She got a baby in her stomach'

She's eaten a baby?

OrangeFluff · 23/08/2017 21:50

Not contest for me it has to be Eminems 'Kim'.

Notevilstepmother Oh I love Incubus!

awrightmylover · 23/08/2017 22:17

This is pretty tame but I remember a girl in my class singing that horrible lady-lumps, junk-in-mah-trunk song, complete with gyrating, chest groping dance routine, at a school talent show.

She was 10 at the time Shock

awrightmylover · 23/08/2017 22:23

Actually looking at the lyrics now, that seems even more inappropriate than I thought it was at the time.

Eggsellent · 23/08/2017 22:49

Closer by nine inch nails - I wanna fuck you like an animal, I wanna feel you from the inside Shock I actually love that song and the uncut version is not something that is ever going to be played on the radio but I remember the first time I heard the lyrics thinking wtf?!

Marilyn Manson user friendly - Use me when you wanna come, I beg just to have a taste, when I'm in you I want to die. I'm not in love but I'm gonna fuck you til somebody better comes along

Eggsellent · 23/08/2017 22:54

I forgot that horrid fucking whistle song, I can't remember who it's by but it was constantly on the radio a few years back, anyone remember it? It went can you blow my whistle baby? Along to a really annoying time and was so blatantly about oral sex, I used to turn the radio off as soon as it came on as it turned my stomach but it was played at my dc's (primary) school disco too and all the kids sang along Envy - not envy

Eggsellent · 23/08/2017 22:55

*tune

awrightmylover · 23/08/2017 23:02

This makes me sound like a prude, but reading this thread makes me feel like something in Western/ pop culture really needs to change.

user1467976192 · 23/08/2017 23:05

Eggsellent candy shop was of a similar nature
'I'll take you to the candy shop
I'll let you lick my lollipop"

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 23/08/2017 23:19

Another here baffled by the "Young Girl" outrage. SHE tricks HIM into thinking she's older; when he finds out he tells her to get lost. What did he do wrong? Confused

And "I Touch Myself" ... so what? Aren't women allowed to masturbate?

Also have no problem with Moon of Alabama or Bruce Springsteen's "little girl"

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 23/08/2017 23:20

Or Gilbert O Sullivan's Claire... totally sweet and innocent to me!

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 23/08/2017 23:22

I'm too sexy for my shirt? Also harmless.

fannydaggerz · 23/08/2017 23:29

I used to listen to a lot of east 17 and sang it around the house when I was a lot younger. My favourite song was called steam which comes complete with a woman orgasming in the background of the song. I was blissfully unaware.

I don't think that lyric in the little mix song is all that bad.
