There's a huge advert for her new album at the top of the page. AIBU to not see the point of her?

She lacks expertise or tenacity in any area, just flits from one thing to another and comes out of the woodwork when she needs some cash. I see no talent within her.

I don't have any strong opinions about her one way or the other.

But in the banner ad her expression is very odd - half bemused and half scared.

Im not a fan either!

However, I hate the phrase: "to not see the point of someone"/"What's the point of you" etc. I think its really cruel.

My fave fact about her is that she once got so drunk she threw up on Mick Hucknall's (simply red) dreadlocks and that's why he had them cut off.

I never understand why some people get so defensive of celebs. It's not like they need your backing. Or are we supposed to love worship them all.

She's in showbiz/ music scene. What do people expect? For her to still be in East Enders?

I quite admire her (and her mum) really. It couldn't have been easy for her as a Hackney girl from a single parent family, to acquire the necessary skills to break into the competitive world of acting and music.

I love that making a film in London with a British cast, director and crew is considered going to Hollywood. And that and advert on here means Mumsnet are pushing something.

I completely agree op.

I also hate her fake accent she puts on, like she's trying to sound in her mind 'posh.' Just be yourself and speak in your natural accent, you sound like an absolute fool.

I have Cold Stone confetti cupcake on mine at the moment. If MM comes back I will try and post on here. Her hair is shorter, I thought she looked quite attractive.

I can relate to what she says. ME affects us all slightly different and we all live different lives, so it is going to.

My girls would know her from Love Actually, I know her from the theatre and Loose Women. She's popped up on adverts. What's the issue, exactly? I've never heard her state that what she says is gospel, she speaks from her experience.

She's a Mum trying to earn a living and is lucky enough that there is enough interest in her that she gets to do what she enjoys.

There are lots more people, especially men who aren't being Dads or anything to anybody and come out with crap, but it's always other Women who get these questions asked about them.

Waited at stage door with two children to get her autograph. She wasn't very nice and said she would only sign once so kids had to decide who got the autograph. I thought she was mean. No one else was waiting so not like there was a crowd.

I feel a bit sorry for her - she had a great role in EE, then thought she was bigger and better like so many other soap stars. And her career tanked. She seems to have a lot of "health issues" too. Isn't there a saying about biting the hand that feeds you, or similar. It's like Danny Dyer, Michelle Keegan......... all like fishes out of their soap opera water.

I can't see that advert. The only advert I have is the huge annoying Mitsubishi one which overtakes the whole of the page.

I don't think people are being defensive of her, I don't have much opinion on MM either way but saying you don't know what is the point of her is not exactly kind.

If you don't like her, don't buy the album.

If you don't like the thread, hit the back button and read something else.

People do love to over-complicate.
