He's sold his story to them (with no need to do so financially) and now the daily heil is now full of gossip about his wife not being around for his release from rehab. I reckon they've got something they're about to spill imminently and his poor wife has just been tipped off.

Poor Lisa.

I dont think anyone will ever get to the bottom of the Barrymore
trial and what actually went on that day. Its been rumbling on for years. the family of the man who died must be haunted by it all and it is all so sad.

Rhubarbginisnotasin · 19/08/2017 10:38

I suspect he knew it was better to give a story to the press rather than have them invent one.

Bit harsh heart - my DF was an alcoholic and ended up committing suicide because he couldn't control his addiction to booze. He hated it.

I have lots of sympathy for anyone in that position.

MudGolum · 19/08/2017 10:47

I like Ant and Dec. Don't care what they do in their own time.

Where's the war diet thread!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 19/08/2017 10:50

MyheartbelongstoG that's a disgusting post and shows you have absolutely no idea what addiction is like.

HelsinkiLights · 19/08/2017 10:51

Co-codamol is another highly addictive drug where Codeine is metabolised by the liver enzyme into morphine.
One of our friends had an addiction to Co-codamol, managed to keep getting on prescription and buying the lower dosage stuff you get from pharmacies (solpadeine or something?) and also enabled by a friend of theirs who would share their supply.
It took months for our friend to get off it with the help of her doctors.
Many people get addicted to co-codamol or tramadol etc as it's originally been prescribed for severe pain & but some people are more likely to get addicted because of the intense highs they get & because of the come down need more of the co or tram to feel normal not severely depressed. Just like heroin, need to take it to keep functioning.

And no this wasn't me.

HelsinkiLights · 19/08/2017 10:53

Yes Myheart that's a horrible thing to say.

DailyMailReadersAreThick · 19/08/2017 10:53

And I don't just blame the media, much of the problem lies with all the people who avidly gobble up this shit.

Yep.

JoshLymanJr · 19/08/2017 10:54

They're TV presenters, what does it matter?

Dirty little addict.

Twat.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 19/08/2017 10:56

I didn't get high once when I was taking it,just crashed from a great height when I stopped.

TheLegendOfBeans · 19/08/2017 11:01

Agreed OP, my thoughts exactly when I saw the "splash".

Runny · 19/08/2017 11:02

YANBU. Ive been thinking the same, and it's obvious that they are hinting Ant's marriage is in trouble. The article in today's Mail is pretty nasty as well.

HelsinkiLights · 19/08/2017 11:06

Dame yes it's the horrible depression as our friend said it started off making her feel all super relaxed & floaty, like having a constant cuddle.
Doesn't do anything for me apart from killed the pain after an operation.
Tramadol made another friend sick & dizzy.
I suppose it's all down to your body chemistry.

it really annoys me when people go 'oh how can people get addicted to painkillers Confused. Though I used to think that until our friend got addicted.

LogicalPsycho · 19/08/2017 11:12

HelsinkiLights I'm an ex-Codeine addict, and you're right- i was given IV Morphine in hospital after my accident, and then prescribed 30mg codeine tablets by my GP when discharged.
I took them because I needed them to function through pain, and then by the time I wasn't actually in pain anymore, I carried on collecting my prescription because I simply couldn't function without it.
It was not something I walked into with open eyes though, and took me months of reducing the dose without my GP knowing as I didn't want 'addiction' on my medical records.

I had a broken femur, slipped vertebra and collarbone. Oh, and toddler DC at home to look after (lone parent). I simply could not have coped under those circumstances without my pain being alleviated.

It is people like myheart that means I don't acknowledge this is RL, because even though it was something I'm proud that I fixed myself, there'll always be shallow minded judgmental people who don't see any shades of grey, everyone is just a "dirty little addict". I truly hope none of your children ever suffer from addiction. Because with an attitude like that, you will be the last to know.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 19/08/2017 11:12

Wasn't depressed or floaty high ever. It just numbed the pain and when I stopped after a month of taking them 3x a day I came crashing down-to- freezing cold, throwing up / diahrreah, shaking, head spinning, like the worst flu ever. Half a tablet later after 20 mins I was fine again. Thank goodness my GP advised cutting back slowly,it worked with no problems at all.

OstentatiousWanking · 19/08/2017 11:16

Myheart that's a fucking vile comment.

MidnightAura · 19/08/2017 11:18

It wouldn't surprise me if something comes out, I like ant and Dec but I believe there's more to this then we are being told and that Ant is addicted to drugs far stronger than tramadol.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 19/08/2017 11:19

So many people under estimating Tramadol.

HelsinkiLights · 19/08/2017 11:21

Dame & Logical well done to you both as it's hard to get off it.
It's an excellent painkiller but can be so easy to get addicted i.e. our friend needed it to just function.

HelsinkiLights · 19/08/2017 11:24

Yes people do underestimate the effect of opoid based painkillers.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 19/08/2017 11:25

our friend needed it to just function

Yes, quite. I think people mistake being addicted to getting high and in lots of cases it isn't at all. It's just too function.

I wasn't a dirty little addict I'd had a horrific accident and was taking painkillers I HAD BEEN PRESCRIBED AND THE CORRECT DOSEAGE.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 19/08/2017 11:25

HelsinkiLights is your friend ok now?

Machu · 19/08/2017 11:26

Easy way to tell the difference Ant always photographed on the left, Dec on the right - Ant and Dec.

HelsinkiLights · 19/08/2017 11:32

Yes she is Dame. Won't touch the stuff now.
If I remember correctly her gp weaned her off with pure codeine tablets, reducing dose each week.

Like Logical said the withdrawal effects were awful.
