to think the Sun must have something big on Ant from Ant and Dec?

He's sold his story to them (with no need to do so financially) and now the daily heil is now full of gossip about his wife not being around for his release from rehab. I reckon they've got something they're about to spill imminently and his poor wife has just been tipped off.

Poor Lisa.

Rebecca, it isn't only him he has to think about though is it? Dec's career is so wrapped up with Ant, that he may be worrying about him. Very sad all round.

dustarr73 · 19/08/2017 09:39

maybe the addiction is the tip of the iceberg. He admitted to that, and the papers just kept digging.
I really like Ant and Dec.

I hope its nothing too serious and they can get their marriage back on track.

dewberries · 19/08/2017 09:39

Ifyou, that's a good point. Ant without Dec is like bread without butter.

RebeccaWrongDaily · 19/08/2017 09:48

I do understand the Ant thing, He equally has that much money and is newlyish married, Surely the two of them could've ridden this out? And it's Ants wife who is their manager and they're bosom buddies with Simon Cowell - their celeb capital is strong. He wouldn't be the first celeb to have an affair or the first to take a load of drugs and go to rehab. and or do both.

I think it must be really bad and genuinely feel sorry for his wife. I genuinely think they are big / well enough connected and don't tend to play 'the game' (note, i am aware that they may not be quite as professional Geordie cheeky chappies IRL) anyway, i just saw the papers and thought 'hmmm'.

Jesus wept

Some people on this thread are worse than the tabloids they read.

I'm waiting for someone to speculate he's really a one legged Latvian mountain goat, named Rita.

Freshprincess · 19/08/2017 09:50

Agree the addiction is probably the tip of the iceberg and the sympathetic interview a big of damage limitation for the wholesome family friendly image they have.

The DM and their faux concern for his marriage is sickening. They'd bloody love it if he's been caught cheating.

Oh and how dare she go to work. She needs to stay at home so they can slag her off for living off his money.

AragornsManlyStubble · 19/08/2017 09:58

Worra. Grin

Looks more like a 'Beryl' to me.

WorraLiberty · 19/08/2017 10:02

I heard he only goes by the name of Beryl on a Tuesday, Aragorns Grin

It's true because my aunt's friend's mother in law's goldfish read it on Twitter.

Rachel0Greep · 19/08/2017 10:02

I just hope that he is okay.

RebeccaWrongDaily · 19/08/2017 10:03

ah Worra, salt of the earth etc etc can you send me a list of topics we're allowed to talk shit about on the internet? thanks hun.

Ant has been married to Lisa for ages. Dec is the one who is newlyish married to their manager.

TheKitchenWitch · 19/08/2017 10:08

OMG I have just realised that I have ALWAYS HAD THEM THE WRONG WAY ROUND!!!!!!! Bwahahahha!
Should point out that I am not in the UK and left many years ago when they were just starting out, but I always thought ant was dec and dec was ant!

RandomDent · 19/08/2017 10:10

Grin Ant has spiky hair and Dec has curtains.

NB the last time I saw them in anything was SMTV so this might be a tad out of date. Grin

LittleBearPad · 19/08/2017 10:11

Heaven forbid his wife wants to work.

Jetting off in holiday isn't exactly going to make things better is it DM. It just puts off the return to normality.

GherkinSnatch · 19/08/2017 10:15

TheKitchenWitch I have a handy trick to not call them the wrong name - "Ant-or-Dec", as seen in Love Actually when Bill Nighy meets them on SMTV Grin

LogicalPsycho · 19/08/2017 10:16

How much of a big star do you need to be to be able to say 'bollocks to you tabloid press, do your worst?'

Michael Barrymore was a big star once. Was.
If there's serious dirt on you, tabloid tales can ruin your career. He's just received a payout for wrongful arrest, but the damage is long since done.

LogicalPsycho · 19/08/2017 10:19

Just thinking about how quickly attitudes change though- if a cocaine sex party left someone dead in the Kardashian's swimming pool, they'd probably emerge from the scandal unscathed and dedicate a whole episode to it

Adnerb95 · 19/08/2017 10:23

Well said MrsTerryPritchett

RebeccaWrongDaily · 19/08/2017 10:25

shagging about and taking a nose full of coke/smack is not really on the same scale as a corpse in your jacuzzi though is it?

OP posts:
GinAndToast · 19/08/2017 10:29

No, I think he did the interview for a donation to charity (not for free) because he didn't want to be seen as profiting from what is a sad episode.

I hope there's nothing else, and if there is I hope it isn't published.

blacksax · 19/08/2017 10:32

Tabloid gossip and all this speculation is sickening. And I don't just blame the media, much of the problem lies with all the people who avidly gobble up this shit.
Everyone should leave the poor man, his family and other famous people alone.
IMHO.

The80sweregreat · 19/08/2017 10:34

Having the problems he has had, plus fertility treatment too, must have put them through a lot of strain.
Its so sad when you see people's lives unravel - She seems really nice too and good for him.
Price of fame. Makes me glad i;m not remotely famous.

StillDrivingMeBonkers · 19/08/2017 10:34

Sold his story? What makes you think he sold it?

It's a strange trait in The British , the love of popping people on pedestals then sticking a knife in when they're down. Nothing like giving someone a good kicking when they're at their lowest ebb. It's a form of masturbating over other peoples misfortune, I'd go so far as to say sadism.

A Schadenfreude thread at it's finest.

Ijustwantaquietlife · 19/08/2017 10:34

But wasn't the dead man in the pool nothing directly to do with Barrymore? Other than hosting the party

YoungGirlGrowingOld · 19/08/2017 10:36

Me and ex DP used to be quite friendly with Dec's brother, who is a priest. They seemed an absolutely lovely family and I always believed the wholesome-ish image (although apparently there was an incident of A&D getting veh veg drunk when they shared a flat in London and taking a piss off their balcony onto passers by...)

Haven't seen anything in Popbitch - must read more carefully...
