We shouldnt have to, of course, but:

EVERY single time you go to a car park- supermarket/shopping centre etc, to complain EVERY single time to the security/help button on the ticket machine/supermarket etc .

You know what Im talking about.

Those bloodyselfish disablist C*s who park in disabled spaces. every time.

just this morning, went early to the superkarket. car park hardly used. very few cars there. a W* in a BMW pulls into the disabled bay next to mine, and JOGS into the coffee shop there . Still there when we came out of supermarket. no badge.

I go back to supermarkt (takes me ages with my mobility issues) to complain and the sucurity guy just shrugs. ''happens all the time. we issue tickets sometimes. nothing we can do. '' I said ''you have noticessaying disabled ONLY.

an elderly person heard our exchange and came up and joined in. he said he has a blue badge and hes fed up when he goes out and all the disabled bays are taken with only half of them with blue badges displayed and he cant get a space. he said he blocked someone in once and they , on coming back to their blocked car, didnt listen to him saying they were breaking the law doing that,(punched him through his open windowdamaged his car , and the police just didnt bother to take him seriously.

anyway.

pleaswe, if you have a blue badge, just complain, EVERY SINGLE TIME till hopefully they get the message.

its not about fines, half of them arent paid anyway, why cant their cars be towed away immediatley,? and pay a much huger fine.

bloody selfish and lazy.

on a slightly smaller note, the parentys/nannies/guardians who park in P&C spaces when their kids arent even in the car, their at school/nursery etc but just cos theyve got a car seat......

boils my piss almost more than enything else.

Disabled and elderly people are NOTHING to the ''powers that be''.

YABU to assume that someone who jogs to a shop is not in need of the disabled badge.

Skitless surely very few disabled people can jog?

Voiceforreason · 15/08/2017 16:24

The old Safeway supermarket had a great idea for dealing with this. They put a sticker on windscreen saying parking in a disabled bay was not to be abused by non blue badge holders. It was a big a4 sized sticker and bright yellow. Devils own job to remove too judging by the feverish scraping of shamefaced culprits. I dare say many will be along to claim it was vandalism but my word it felt just to most caring people!

fairgame84 · 15/08/2017 16:27

In my local Tesco the staff park in the disabled bays, no blue badges on display. It's disgusting there are plenty of non disabled spaces.

Spikeyball · 15/08/2017 16:27

My blue badge owning son can. Badges are issued for non physical reasons too. The issue here is no badge.

NationalExpress · 15/08/2017 16:28

"Calm down dear"

How fucking patronising!
I don't have a blue badge, but a relative does and relies on being able to park close to the supermarket to manage and maintain some independence. Not something you have to consider if you're not disabled.
OP YANBU

My dad was severely disabled but too look at him you would t know it ! He had a brain tumour and has since passed away ! I hate all you fucking idiots that assume people who can walk/ run / look healthy don't have a disability !

Spikeyball · 15/08/2017 16:30

They are used for safety reasons as well as physical.

barefoofdoctor · 15/08/2017 16:30

As a disabled person/blue badge holder I only use the disabled spaces when I feel like utter shite and never the spaces closest to the shops etc as although I am in constant pain/drugged up to the eyeballs there is generally someone more broken than me.

bigarse1 · 15/08/2017 16:31

maybe because they are autistic and can run with the best of them but have no idea of danger???? or because they have a sleep disorder and sleep for only a couple of hours so they can run in to the shop but are exhausted by the time they come out???

allgodscreatures · 15/08/2017 16:31

I don't know OP.

Clearly, obviously, the woman in your example was awful.

I never, ever ever park in disabled bays, I just don't have the nerve. But a couple of years ago I slipped a disc in my back. Transitioning from sitting to standing from a car, getting my legs up and over, took for fucking ever and I really really needed the extra space.

Now, obviously anyone watching me would have realised this but after hobbling into the supermarket people would have just seen a car with no blue badge.

But I needed it

LoneStarRising · 15/08/2017 16:32

The OP clearly said in her OP that Jogging Coffee Man DIDN'T have a blue badge.

JustMumNowNotMe · 15/08/2017 16:32

kitten, what abput someone with say, chrons disease. They are issued a blue badge if their illness is poorly controlled because they may need to urgently visit the toilet and need to park as close as possiblein order to give them a chance at makingit to said toilet without having an accident. They can walk, run, appear able bodied, do they deserve one in your opinion?

NationalExpress · 15/08/2017 16:33

The op states there was no badge.
Most of us are aware enough to know that invisible disabilities exist, however we are equally aware that there are entitled twats who think they can park anywhere. This post sounds like the latter.

AnnieOH1 · 15/08/2017 16:34

Blue badges don't apply on private land. The Equality Act means anyone with a disabled characteristic may require accommodations such as easy access parking to be made.

There is nothing to suggest you must have a blue badge to need accommodations under the Equality Act.

Make of it what you will.

LoneStarRising · 15/08/2017 16:34

Omg my tablet just autocorrected woman to man ... I'm going to have to alert the church elders for this one ...

QuiQuaiQuod · 15/08/2017 16:34

Im trying to stess the fact there is no blue badge displayed.

I know some people have hidden disabilities, my Aunt does, and has a blue badge.

and the poster who said 'clam down dear'.

should have known it wouldnt be long till the goaders came out of the woodwork.

Others who dont care/take time to understand the limits of disabled people.

OP posts:
SlaveToDisney · 15/08/2017 16:34

For all of you saying that someone that can jog into coffee shop is not in need of a blue badge not ALL disabilities are visible and yes SOME people that can jog are also disabled.

AwaywiththePixies27 · 15/08/2017 16:35

surely very few disabled people can jog

Some paralympians can even sprint. It doesnt make them any less disabled Hmm

NationalExpress · 15/08/2017 16:35

The only cases I know of autistic people having blue badges are when it is severe, I would argue in these cases they would not be able to drive themselves to a supermarket and go solo to the coffee shop.

What is more likely? That a young man in a BMW seen jogging and with no BB on display a) has a mysterious invisible disability which allows him to both drive safely and jog but prevents him from putting his BB out, or b) he's abusing the BB spaces?

If you're in a BB space, you need a BB.
